INESC TEC’s Associate Director nominated for a leading position in IEEE Power Tech

João Peças Lopes, INESC TEC’s Associate Director, was nominated for a four-year term as Chair of the Steering Committee of the IEEE Power Tech Conference.

This conference is one of the most prestigious ones in the world and is the largest in the Energy Systems area held in Europe.

The 13th edition of IEEE Power Tech was held in Milan between 23 and 27 June. INESC TEC’s researchers were present with the presentation of 19 papers. João Peças Lopes was nominated to this leading position in this conference’s edition.

For the Associate Director, this nomination represents the recognition by his peers of a long and productive scientific career developed in a large team, the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), which allowed INESC TEC to assert itself as an important institution in the international scene in the Power Systems field.
