INESC TEC welcomes IAPMEI’S dia Aberto ao Conhecimento

On 25 September, INESC TEC welcomed the Dia Aberto do Conhecimento, an initiative promoted alongside IAPMEI - Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, I.P. – aiming at presenting the several R&D skills of INESC TEC, strategies for the competitiveness and innovation of the Portuguese business world.

As IAPMEI's mission is to strengthen innovation, entrepreneurship and business investment, namely in small and medium-sized enterprises, the agency has organised events of this kind in order to promote the interaction between companies, universities and research teams.

The opening session was attended by Fátima Tavares, Head of Department of the Northern Business Support Centre of IAPMEI and by José Manuel Mendonça, President of INESC TEC’s Board.

Maria João Amaral Marques, from the Northern Business Support Centre of IAPMEI, was responsible for the presentation of IAPMEI’s products and services catalogue. Luís Carneiro, member of INESC TEC’s Board, was responsible for the presentation of INESC TEC, abilities and projects. In addition to this, it was possible to attend the explanation of a practical example of the FLUPOL – Surface Engineering, S.A, company, which was led by Pedro Bandeira.

The agenda also included a demonstration of several INESC TEC’s technologies such as digital shadow and optimisation, optimisation of the supply chain, industrial robotics, LET-IN- Laboratory of Technology Companies, biomedical image, temporal data analysis, augmented video 360º, opportunistic video dissemination, remote sensing system, facial analytics and assets inspection.

At the end, the participants also had the opportunity to visit INESC TEC’s Laboratory of Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles and to see robot demonstrations with application in the agricultural industry.
