INESC TEC was once again present at Hannover Messe

INESC TEC was once again present at Hannover Messe, the world's leading trade show for the manufacturing industry that took place on 23 and 27 April in Hannover, Germany.

INESC TEC was represented by INESC TEC’s Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE) under the BEinCPPS – Business Experiments in Cyber Physical Production Systems (http://www.beincpps.eu/) of the I4MS - ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs - an initiative of the European Commission.

On display was the installation of a cyber physical system (Internet of Things) at the Kyaia footwear company and the presentation of iMan Norte Hub, the newly Digital Innovation Hub of the northern region of Portugal dedicated to advanced production technologies, which brings together competence centres, incubators, companies and business associations.

Ana Cristina Barros (CESE) was representing INESC TEC, who occupied one of the booth spaces of the European Commission (Pavilion 6, G46) dedicated to the BEinCPPS project, in collaboration with the Footwear Technology Centre of Portugal and Kyaia. Besides interacting with a great number of companies, the stand was attended by the Secretary of State for Industry, Ana Teresa Lehmann, and the Managing Director for Germany at AICEP Portugal Global, Pedro Leão, on Tuesday 24 April, and the President of PRODUTECH, Fernando Sousa, on Thursday 26 April.

Every year Hannover Messe assumes the role of the world's leading trade show specialized in manufacturing technology gathering the latest innovations in technology, industry and energy. The lead theme of the 2018 edition of Hannover Messe was "Integrated Industry - Connect & Collaborate” based on the so called fourth industrial revolution or Industry 4.0. Around 210,000 visitors and more than 5 000 exhibitors from 75 countries, linked to Industrial automation, Digital factory, Factories of the future, Energy, Subcontracting and R&D&TT attended this trade show.
