INESC TEC signs agreements with Institutions in India
Vladimiro Miranda, INESC TEC’s Member of the Board, visited several institutions in India and signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) which formalizes the strategical cooperation that INESC TEC is developing.

An MoU was signed in Goa with the National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa), predicting the cooperation in projects as well as INESC TEC receiving undergraduate, post-graduate and post-doctorate students. Some meetings were also held at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) and in The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI Goa), in order to develop cooperation in projects that focused on sensors and communication solutions and technological partnership with NIT Goa, without adversely affecting the other fields of expertise of INESC TEC.
In Chennai, Vladimiro Miranda was welcomed in the National Institute of Oceanic Technologies (NIOT), creating good perspectives of future collaborations given the technological complementaries identified. For two days, Vladimiro was welcomed at IIT Madras, the Institute of Engineering ranked 1st as the top engineering school in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of India Government.
These meetings initiate the preparation process of an MoU between INESC TEC and IIT Madras, focusing on the exchange of students and professors. The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) should be integrated in this process as well. Then, it was discussed the cooperation in three key areas: energy, robotics and business incubation, initiating the process of preparing specific agreements.
Finally, in the Guajarat State, northern India, Vladimiro Miranda signed an MoU with the Charotor University of Science and Technology, which is one of the best State Private University, focusing on scientific collaboration and a strong perspective in sending post-graduate students to the city of Porto.
