INESC TEC researcher publishes book

Ricardo Queirós, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Research in Advanced Computing Systems (CRACS), has published and edited, in January 2015, a book about innovative teaching strategies and new learning paradigms in the Area of Computer Science. Published by IGI Global, the book is available on Amazon.

18th February 2015

Titled Innovative Teaching Strategies and New Learning Paradigms in Computer Programming (Advances in Higher Education and Professional Development), the book by the Portuguese researcher presents an up-to-date overview of the issues related to learning computer programming, with a particular focus on educational and technological techniques that help solve these issues. At the same time, the books addresses new trends whose goal is to improve the learning-teaching processes in topics related to computer science, particularly in programming.

Ricardo Queirós, who also teaches at the School of Management and Industrial Studies (ESEIG), Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP), obtained a PhD in Computer Science at the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto (FCUP). His research themes focus specifically on e-Learning standards and Interoperability, Languages for XML and Architecture Integration, with an emphasis on e-learning systems. It was precisely because of his work on e-Learning that he received from the IPP the Prémio Inovação Pedagógica em Ensino à Distância (PIPED, or award for innovation in e-learning) in March 2013.

The INESC TEC researchers mentioned in this article are associated with the following partner institutions: IPP.
