INESC TEC present at the "MATCH@INDÚSTRIA 4.0" Forum

To discuss priorities and technological needs in the area of Industry 4.0 and to promote the approach between academia and the industry. These were the main goals of the "Match@Indústria4.0" forum, which took place on 17 May at the University of Minho, in Guimarães.

13th June 2018

The initiative had the presence of Ana Barros, collaborator of INESC TEC’s Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE) with the presentation “Indústria 4.0: Avaliação de maturidade e Casos de implementação” ("Industry 4.0: Maturity assessment and implementation cases” in English).

The forum started in the morning with a presentation of the competences of the Universities of the north of Portugal as well as examples of success in the collaboration between industry and academia. It was then followed by a round table discussion around the theme “O que podemos esperar da indústria do futuro?” (“What can we expect from the industry of the future? “in English), in order to debate good practices, challenges and experiences.

In the afternoon, with the idea of promoting collaborative projects between universities and industry still in the air, there were "matchmaking" reunions where previously registered enterprises were allowed to talk with specialists from the area in order to promote future partnerships to solve problems and create opportunities.

The event was organized in the framework of the U.Norte Inova project, which is part of the Norte2020 programme.

U.Norte Inova

The U.Norte Inova project was created in order to coordinate the Universities from the north of the country, in a way to respond to the necessity of enhancing the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to the industry sector. It derives from a EUR 1.12M investment, co-funded by Norte2020 through the Portugal 2020 and the European Regional Development Fund.

This project focuses on the support to national companies and the continuous and sustainable development of their innovation activities and on the speed-up of value creation, establishing a bridge for the activities promoted on the higher education institutes - University of Porto, University of Minho/TecMinho and University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, in a consortium signed on 9 January 2015.
