INESC TEC participates in Porto Anniversary Summit 2019

INESC TEC participated in the Porto Anniversary Summit 2019 event, which took place on February 20, at Maus Hábitos.

The event, which was organised by Airbnb, was aimed at the companies and people of the tourism sector while offering accommodation and experiences in the sector. The participants received hints on how to attract reservations, obtain five-star ratings in Porto, increase their business and improve the management of some Airbnb functionalities, among others.

INESC TEC was represented by Sara Neves, a researcher of the Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship, who presented, under the TouriSMEshare project, the topic “Como tornar-se um empreendedor no setor do turismo” (in English “How to become an entrepreneur in the tourism sector”), as well as a Call for Operators that intends to select SMEs to take advantage of the specialised support. This support will come in several forms, one of which corresponds to a free provision of diagnostic services, expert advice and search for business partnerships or technological cooperation with the support of the Enterprise Europe Network. In Portugal, these services will be made available by INESC TEC, which is a partner of the Network and member of the TouriSMEshare’s European consortium.

TouriSMEshare focuses on supporting SMEs, Social Companies or other entities that explore or intend to explore business models based on Sharing Economy, specifically in the Tourism and Intangible Cultural Heritage sectors in four European countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy and Bulgaria).
