INESC TEC article is the third most viewed in 2018 of the PeerJ Computer Science

Kelwin Fernandes and Jaime Cardoso, researcher and coordinator of INESC TEC’s Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM), respectively, alongside Jessica Fernandez and Davide Chicco are the authors of the third most viewed and downloaded article of the PeerJ Computer Science journal in 2018.

This article, entitled “Supervised deep learning embeddings for the prediction of cervical cancer diagnosis”, proposes and applies a new artificial intelligence algorithm to the diagnosis of cervical cancer, which was designed to simultaneously decide properly (diagnosis forecasting) and to create clinically relevant features (facilitating the understanding of the decision).

The PeerJ Computer Science is an open access journal, which covers all the computer science areas and has the participation of an advisory board and more than 300 academic editors.
