A robot developed at INESC TEC's Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS) won the Robot@Factory 4.0, a competition part of the National Robotics Festival, which took place from April 29 to May 1, in Santa Maria da Feira.

InstitutionalThe SpecTOM and Smart Trap projects were acknowledged at the 8th edition of the Crédito Agrícola Entrepreneurship and Innovation award, an initiative that rewards innovative projects, with economic viability and significant benefits for society. SpecTOM won the Agro-Industry 4.0 category and Smart Trap (new designation is AgIoTrap) won the Born from Knowledge (BfK) award, granted by the National Innovation Agency (ANI). INESC TEC's Technology Licensing Office (SAL) supported the participation of said projects in this initiative.

InstitutionalINESC TEC, in partnership with Pulverizadores Rocha, developed a sprayer robot for mountain vineyards, within the scope of the PRYSM project. This technology will decrease the use of pesticides and promote a more sustainable agriculture, as it will improve the spraying process by dispensing the right amount of product in the required places.

InstitutionalResearchers from the Centre for Applied Photonics (CAP) and the Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent System (CRIIS) developed a mobile platform dedicated to the metabolic monitoring in precision viticulture. The solution integrates advanced sensors using light to measure the organic changes that occur in the plant, in order to ensure the harvest's high quality. This is the first technology of its kind in the world, and is being tested in the Douro region, at Quinta do Seixo and Quinta dos Aciprestes.
