Health Parliament project features member of INESC TEC

After three years of existence, the Health Parliament project has now come to Portugal to challenge 60 young people to think about public health policies in the country. INESC TEC’s Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI) is involved in a COST-Action project entitled “Rationing - MISSED CARE: An international and multidimensional problem”, where the goal is to promote discussion about the rationing of nursing care. The project was launched on September 20 in Brussels.

First researchers in the Iberian Peninsula to be global certified analytics professionals

On 9 April, Bernardo Almada-Lobo, member of the Board of INESC TEC, and Pedro Amorim, coordinator of INESC TEC’s Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI), took an exam in Orlando (USA) to obtain the CAP®, the global professional certification for premier analytics practitioner. There are only 350 certified people in the world, with the majority coming from the US and Canada.

Thesis and paper by INESC TEC researchers awarded

Luís Guimarães, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI), has received the award for best 2013 and 2014 PhD thesis (award given every two years) and best 2015 scientific paper, as part of the APDIO Congress – Portuguese Association for Operational Research (IO2015), which took place between 7 and 9 September at the Management School of the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre.
