On 27 November, INESC TEC received the visit of the Secretary of State of Industry, Ana Teresa Lehmann, and José Sequeira, member of the same Cabinet. The goal of this visit was to present the work developed by INESC TEC and the future challenges for the industry.

On 9 April, Bernardo Almada-Lobo, member of the Board of INESC TEC, and Pedro Amorim, coordinator of INESC TEC’s Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI), took an exam in Orlando (USA) to obtain the CAP®, the global professional certification for premier analytics practitioner. There are only 350 certified people in the world, with the majority coming from the US and Canada.

Luís Guimarães, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI), has received the award for best 2013 and 2014 PhD thesis (award given every two years) and best 2015 scientific paper, as part of the APDIO Congress – Portuguese Association for Operational Research (IO2015), which took place between 7 and 9 September at the Management School of the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre.
