IET COMPUTERS AND DIGITAL TECHNIQUES
Abstract
A tool called BITLINKER, that creates partially reconfigurable modules from the bit-streams of individual components is described. It is also capable of performing restricted component placement and interconnect routing between the assembled components. The resulting modules are used in applications that exploit partial dynamic reconfiguration. The tool is integrated in a design flow particularly aimed at dynamically reconfigurable platform field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The associated development design flow and a run-time support system that can be used to manage module activation and data communication are described. Evaluation results obtained with a Virtex-II Pro system are also reported.

2007 5TH IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS, VOLS 1-3
Abstract
E-business has emerged as a key enabler for information integration and interoperability in collaborative networks. This paper presents a service-oriented approach towards creating an ICT platform for the footwear industry, which has been tested for specific business scenarios and answers industry requirements. Other related works are discussed and analyzed, emphasizing the innovative aspects and advantages of this initiative.

Image Analysis, Proceedings
Abstract
There is great interest in the development of automatic geometric correction systems for satellite images. A fully automatic system, based exclusively on the identification of tie points (image to image control points) by image matching needs to use efficient selection and validation methods. Four Tie Point Suitability Indices (TPSI) are proposed to select the most suitable areas in an image to search for tie points. Three tie point validation parameters are also proposed. The validation parameters make use of the various spectral bands available in hyperspectral and multispectral satellite images. The proposed TPSIs and validation parameters were tested with hyperspectral high-resolution satellite images from the CHRIS/PROBA sensor.

2007 INAUGURAL IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DIGITAL ECOSYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES
Abstract
The Digital Business Ecosystem paradigm emerged worldwide as an approach supporting the adoption and development of interoperable infrastructures among SMEs, supporting them to achieve their goals efficiently. The aim of this article is to present a novel three-layered approach towards the creation of a digital business ecosystem for the shoe manufacturing domain, following ebXML scenario and framework, and using open-source software. Relevant related works are also discussed, emphasizing the innovative aspects and advantages of this novel approach.

Establishing the Foundation of Collaborative Networks
Abstract
The goal of achieving full interoperability is still not achieved, despite the high number of tools and infrastructures developed. The objective of this article is to present a framework aiming at supporting seamless interoperability in a business collaborative networked environment. An implementation example from the footwear sector validating the framework proposed is also described.

Practical Aspects of Declarative Languages
Abstract
Most of the recent proposals in tabling technology were designed as a means to improve some practical deficiencies of current tabling execution models that reduce their applicability in particular applications. The discussion we address in this paper was also motivated by practical deficiencies we encountered, in particular, on the table storage mechanisms used for tabling support. To improve such mechanisms, we propose two new implementation techniques that make tabling models more efficient when dealing with incomplete tables and more robust when recovering memory from the table space. To validate our proposals, we have implemented them in the YapTab tabling system as an elegant extension of the original design.
