Holistic RBS-PIXE data reanalysis of SBT thin film samples

Abstract
The growth of SrBi2Ta2O9 (SBT) films on top of Pt electrode substrates is an important issue for the fabrication of ferroelectric based memories. In a recent publication, SBT thin films grown using seeded and unseeded procedures were studied by PIXE and RBS. Difficulties and misfits found in the comparison of results from both techniques were, at that time, overcome by physical considerations. These, although not rendering interpretation impossible, left out the possibility of understanding the exact nature of the differences between the interface behavior in each case. In the present work it is shown that the reanalysis of the same data using the recently developed RBS-PIXE simultaneous and self-consistent calculation present in NDF leads to stronger conclusions on the solid state reaction occurring during the deposition stage for both types of samples. Allowing for the occurrence of solid state reactions between the deposited film and the Pt electrode even in the case of seeded samples leads to a full explanation of IBA data, this result showing that in complex systems such as this, the PIXE data are essential and must be integrated with the RBS data in an holistic analysis, in order to properly unfold the depth profile of the samples. Contrary to what is usually supposed PIXE data is therefore shown to contain hidden depth structure information.

Abstract
Soccer was the original motivation for Robocup. Besides being a very popular sport worldwide, soccer brings up a set of challenges for researchers while attracting people to the event, promoting robotics among students, researchers and general public. RoboCup chose to use soccer game as a central topic of research, aiming at innovations to be applied for socially significant problems and industries. This paper describes the implementation of a system similar to the used by the teams participating in the Robocup small size league (SLL). The system, developed in Object Pascal, allows real time localization and control of an omnidirectional mobile robot. The objective of this paper is to be an introductory tutorial for Robocup soccer games, focusing in the base topics real time localization and control. © IEEE.

Ontology engineering in virtual breeding environments

Establishing the Foundation of Collaborative Networks

Abstract
This paper proposes a new method for managing the use of ontologies in the context of a Virtual Breeding Environment. This research work focus is on the dissolution phase of a Virtual Enterprise or Collaborative Network, where ontology segmentation technique are user to enrich the VBE's ontology libray. Firstly, an overview of the process of ontology composition and decomposition is given and the ontology library system adopted described. Then, the ontologies' ranking and classification method is described, explaining a set of metrics inspired in social network approaches. Finally, the results of preliminary tests are discussed.

Abstract
In the evolvable manufacturing world we are moving towards systems made of small intelligent interacting units which make their own decisions independently from a centralized decision maker. System intelligence will be the collective intelligence resulting from a large number of individual decision, each one based on its local knowledge. In our paper we present the Ubiquitous Production Systems and Enterprises (UPSE) whose foundations can be found in two main scientific areas/disciplines, (1) Ubiquitous Computing Systems and (2) Virtual and Networked Enterprises and Organizations. We present the concept and the underlying formal model as well as our positioning in the state of the art of similar concepts. Finally we present some ongoing experiments that will work as a testbed for the UPSE concept.

Integration of RE and MDE paradigms: the projectIT approach and tools

Abstract
The suggestion that in software development projects the emphasis must be on the project management (RE), requirements engineering, and design activities, and consequently efforts in production activities - such as traditional software programming and testing - should be minimised and performed as automatically as possible is discussed. The ProjectIT approach that integrates contributions from the RE and model-driven engineering communities is also discussed. The goal with requirement specification is not just in managing textual specifications, but also to obtain a consistent requirements document that is in conformance with a domain-specific language, and that can be re-used to increase the design and development activities in the context of model driven and code generation techniques. Furthermore, the feasibility and benefits of this approach by presenting a proof-of-concept case study are discussed, in which the orchestration of the concepts and concrete components related with the ProjectIT approach, the PIT-RSL, XIS and PIT-TSL languages and the ProjectIT-Studio CASE tool is emphasised. A practical demonstration of the approach including the description of the system requirements, the design of the system, the use of code generation techniques, and how they integrate to improve and accelerate the software engineering lifecycle is presented.
