Abstract
The generation of three-dimensional models of urban environments using procedural modelling is presented as being a solution that allows financial and temporal gains, maintaining an acceptable visual fidelity level. Nevertheless, the modelling of anchor buildings ( or monumental), identifying certain urban areas, needs a more careful modelling, due to the elevated level of detail necessary, using, generally, manual modelling. This paper proposes a data model to be used on an architecture for high level modelling of monumental buildings, through the introduction of additional knowledge from textual information. The firsts results shows that the data model is flexible enough to build distinct models of churches and other buildings. This data model also provides a high level three-dimensional model that can be used by other procedural modelling solutions to create detailed monumental buildings. The results also demonstrate that it is possible to use simple text to create a rudimentary 3D model, showing the way to further investigation, allowing non-specialized users to increase effectiveness using a procedural modelling system.

Abstract
The Internet is extremely important for the publishing of information and for the interaction between the society elements. Due to this, it's essential that the web presents itself accessible to all, including those with any kind of disability. An accessible web may help the handicapped citizens interact with the society in a more active way. This paper presents a study made with a universe of 777 Portuguese biggest enterprises, using a W3C referenced tool (SortSite), and presents some statistical results according to the Portuguese Classification of the Enterprises Activities. The achieved results present a serious troubled reality that's preventing the disabled citizens from having the same access rights to the World Wide Web as the "non-disabled" citizens.

FOURTH EUROPEAN WORKSHOP ON OPTICAL FIBRE SENSORS

Abstract
In this work, a fibre loop mirror for the simultaneous measurement of strain and temperature is presented. The loop mirror contains a section of a small core microstructured fibre characterized for strain and temperature sensing. Due to the small core geometry and using a small section length, the structure presents high birefringence and also intermodal interference. The spectral response of this configuration shows the presence of three interferometers. One of them corresponds to the interference of light that propagates in the fast and slow axes (group birefringence) and the others are associated with the interference of light in the two lowest order spatial modes in each of the fibre eigenaxis. These interferometers present distinct sensitivities to strain and temperature for different wavelengths.

Abstract
One of the goals of efficient water supply management is the regular supply of clean water at the pressure required by consumers. In this context, predicting water consumption in urban areas is of key importance for water supply management. This prediction is also relevant in processes for reviewing prices: as well as for operational management of a water network. In this paper, we describe and compare a series of predictive models for forecasting water demand. The models are obtained using time series data from water consumption in an urban area of a city in south-eastern Spain. This includes highly non-linear time series data, which has conditioned the type of models we have included in our study. Namely, we have considered artificial neural networks, projection pursuit regression, multivariate adaptive regression splines, random forests and support vector regression. Apart from these models, we also propose a simple model based on the weighted demand profile resulting from our exploratory analysis of the data. In our comparative study, all predictive models were evaluated using an experimental methodology for hourly time series data that detailed water demand in a hydraulic sector of a water supply network in a city in south-eastern Spain. The accuracy of the obtained results, together with the medium size of the demand area, suggests that this was a suitable environment for making adequate management decisions.

Abstract
Cruz S. C. S. and Teixeira A. A. C. The evolution of the cluster literature: shedding light on the regional studies-regional science debate, Regional Studies. Despite the intuitive awareness about the rising importance of the cluster literature, an empirical study on its precise magnitude and evolution has yet to be accomplished. Based on two complementary bibliometric exercises - comprising 50 000 citations and almost 3000 abstracts, ranging in date from 1962 to 2008 - it was demonstrated that although seminal contributors come both from regional science and regional studies areas, the 'convergence' between regional science and regional studies approaches is still a chimera.
