Abstract
The extraction of harmonic information from musical audio is fundamental for several music information retrieval tasks. In this paper, we propose novel harmonic audio features based on the perceptually-inspired tonal interval vector space, computed as the Fourier transform of chroma vectors. Our contribution includes mid-level features for musical dissonance, chromaticity, dyadicity, triadicity, diminished quality, diatonicity, and whole-toneness. Moreover, we quantify the perceptual relationship between short- and long-term harmonic structures, tonal dispersion, harmonic changes, and complexity. Beyond the computation on fixed-size windows, we propose a context-sensitive harmonic segmentation approach. We assess the robustness of the new harmonic features in style classification tasks regarding classical music periods and composers. Our results align with, slightly outperforming, existing features and suggest that other musical properties than those in state-of-the-art literature are partially captured. We discuss the features regarding their musical interpretation and compare the different feature groups regarding their effectiveness for discriminating classical music periods and composers. © F. Abstract
Parallel programming models (e.g., OpenMP) are more and more used to improve the performance of real-time applications in modern processors. Nevertheless, these processors have complex architectures, being very difficult to understand their timing behavior. The main challenge with most of existing works is that they apply static timing analysis for simpler models or measurement-based analysis using traditional platforms (e.g., single core) or considering only sequential algorithms. How to provide an efficient configuration for the allocation of the parallel program in the computing units of the processor is still an open challenge. This paper studies the problem of performing timing analysis on complex multi-core platforms, pointing out a methodology to understand the applications' timing behavior, and guide the configuration of the platform. As an example, the paper uses an OpenMP-based program of the Heat benchmark on a NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier. The main objectives are to analyze the execution time of OpenMP tasks, specify the best configuration of OpenMP directives, identify critical tasks, and discuss the predictability of the system/application. A Linux perf based measurement tool, which has been extended by our team, is applied to measure each task across multiple executions in terms of total CPU cycles, the number of cache accesses, and the number of cache misses at different cache levels, including L1, L2 and L3. The evaluation process is performed using the measurement of the performance metrics by our tool to study the predictability of the system/application.

Abstract
Indoor localization systems are an important topic in the field of manufacturing process. A computational infrastructure based on Bluetooth low energy technology with state estimators for filtering is used to localize employees in the shop floor. The researchers' motivation is two-folds: implement an indoor tracking system while promoting manage production time. In this paper, we discuss the first prototype of a localization system adapted to address these goals. Experimental results show that the system for our case study, achieves a localization accuracy of less than three meters. © 2022 IEEE.

THEORETICAL AND APPLIED FRACTURE MECHANICS
Abstract
Over the years, many techniques have been developed for the stabilisation of bone fractures. The study of the adhesion of bone-to-bone cement is an important step towards the development of new immobilization systems. Although bone cement has been used for more than fifty years, very few studies have been performed regarding the evaluation of fracture properties. In this work, numerical and experimental investigations were conducted to evaluate the strain energy release rate under mode I loading in a bone-cement bonded joint, using the Double Cantilever Beam (DCB) test. Cohesive zone laws were also measured combining the finite element method with non-linear elastic fracture mechanics. This has been made in a cortical bone bonded joint with polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). Consistent results have been obtained regarding fracture toughness in a widely used bone-to-bone cement joint in many biomedical applications.

Abstract
Virtual Reality (VR) can infiuence users' perception of a given location through experiences in immersive environments. In the tourism context, the use of this technology is crucial in the promotion of products and destinations by improving the perception of tourism content and generating impactful information. However, it is difficult to find comprehensive reviews of studies on VR in tourism. To overcome such limitation, this study is a desk-based, descriptive and retrospective research that combines bibliometric analysis techniques to 37 papers from the Web of Science and Scopus databases, between 1999 and 2020. We aim to provide an overview of the scientific production in the tourism sector associated with VR, identify empirical infiuences of the conceptual framework and suggest new paths. The results allow us to conclude that the use of VR for promotional purposes in tourism is infrequent. The most recurrent studies present software proposals for VR and reviews about technological concepts, marketing and destination image. There is little empirical evidence about the implications and applications of VR. Therefore, we consider imperative more research that explore the applicability of VR in tourism promotion. © 2022, Universidade de Aveiro. All rights reserved.
