Interactive three-dimensional chemical element maps with laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy and photogrammetry

Abstract
Imaging the spatial distribution of chemical elements at a sample surface is a common application of laserinduced breakdown spectroscopy with vast scientific and technological applications. Yet, typical imaging solutions only explore the creation of two-dimensional maps, which can limit the interpretability of the results and further diagnostics in three-dimensional settings. Within this context, this work explores the combination of spectral imaging techniques and photogrammetry to deploy a versatile solution for the creation of threedimensional spectral imaging models. First, by making use of a numerical algorithm that is able to match features in the spectral image with those of the three-dimensional model, we show how to match the mesh from distinct sensor modalities. Then, we describe a possible visualization workflow, making use of dedicated photogrammetry and visualization software to easily deploy interactive models. Overall, the results demonstrate the versatility of our approach and pave for the development of novel spectral imaging diagnostic strategies that are able to deliver better qualitative analysis and insight in the three-dimensional space.

Abstract
Software development companies have progressively been experiencing the need to migrate their traditional development processes to agile environments. Several frameworks have emerged that support this paradigm, and Scrum is one of the most widely adopted on a global scale. However, Scrum was originally designed to work in small, local team environments. The challenge lies in designing its adoption in large-scale environments with geographically distributed teams. This chapter seeks to explore this challenge by identifying communication and coordination issues that may arise when adopting distributed Scrum. Three case studies are considered to allow comparison of different approaches considering structural and contextual factors associated with each organization.

Topic Model with Contextual Outlier Handling: a Study on Electronic Invoice Product Descriptions

Abstract
E-commerce has become an essential aspect of modern life, providing consumers worldwide with convenience and accessibility. However, the high volume of short and noisy product descriptions in text streams of massive e-commerce platforms translates into an increased number of clusters, presenting challenges for standard model-based stream clustering algorithms. This is the case of a dataset extracted from the Brazilian NF-e Project containing electronic invoice product descriptions, including many product clusters. While LDA-based clustering methods have shown to be crucial, they have been mainly evaluated on datasets with few clusters. We propose the Topic Model with Contextual Outlier Handling (TMCOH) method to overcome this limitation. This method combines the Dirichlet Process, specific word representation, and contextual outlier detection techniques to recycle identified outliers aiming to integrate them into appropriate clusters later on. The experimental results for our case study demonstrate the effectiveness of TMCOH when compared to state-of-the-art methods and its potential for application to text clustering in large datasets.

A Teacher-Focused Impact Assessment in Scratch4All Project

Abstract
The 'Scratch4All' project aims to reduce school dropout rates by encouraging and motivating students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycles of elementary schools to achieve academic success. In addition, the project promotes true equality of opportunity in terms of educational resources. A learning environment that contributes positively to the improvement of educational results is created through the use of new technologies, specifically programming in the Scratch language and robotics. Impact indicators were developed and used as project evaluation tools based on Theory of Change. This paper presents and analyzes the changes observed from the perspective of the project's teachers' stakeholders during the 2020/2021 school year. This group of beneficiaries is critical to the project's success and continuation, not only because of the special relationship they have with the students, but also with their families and the school. The assessment of impact is very positive in terms of indicators such as school success and motivation, particularly in Mathematics and Portuguese Language, as well as in the reduction of inequalities, access to new technologies, and contribution to gender equality. © 2023 ITMA.

Modelling of a Vibration Robot Using Localization Ground Truth Assisted by ArUCo Markers

Abstract
Simulators have been increasingly used on development and tests on several areas. They allow to speed up the development without damage and no extra costs. On realistic simulators, where kinematics play an important role, the modelling process should be imported for each component to be accurately simulated. Some robots are not yet modelled, as for example the Monera. This paper presents a model of a small vibration robot (Monera) that is acquired in a developed test-bed. A localisation ground truth is used to acquire the position of the Monera with actuating it. Linear and angular speeds acquired from real experiments allow to validate the proposed methodology.
