New model for a decoupled dynamic square root algorithm in power systems state estimation

Abstract
The continuously increasing complexity and interdependence of electric power systems make their monitoring, security analysis and control increasingly important and difficult. Although, an on-line load flow analysis can give insight in the time evolution of the system state, it has been shown that the conventional load flow is not suitable for real time monitoring of the power system. As a result the State Estimation (SE) is nowadays considered as the heart of the modern control centers. To circumvent the numerical problems inherent to the Kalman filter algorithm we present in this paper an algorithm for power system state estimation based in the square root filtering technique. The estimator proposed is decoupled in nature due to modifications made in the measurement equations resulting in a new observation model.

Abstract
Cooperative environments to support Software Development (CSD) have as main goal to enable several users connected over network to work together in order to develop software. They have to solve problems such as: coherence maintenance of the software project through the distributed system by managing possible conflicts between local versions of each group member and promote the necessary mechanisms for the inter-group awareness and integrity We introduce in this paper a distributed solution to support CSD by describing our own prototype: a Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) architecture for software development. It enables a group of developers (2 to 4), possibly located at remote places and connected over network, to develop software together. A cooperative multimedia editing environment is available during the development cycle, enclosing mechanisms of computer-conferencing (text, audio and video communications).

Abstract
This paper describes the initial design phase of the software control architecture for the AUV MARIUS. This research effort is part of a long term project that aims to enable the prototype vehicle to carry out environmental surveying missions in coastal waters, in a completely autonomous mode. Throughout the project, MARIUS will be used as an advanced testbed to test developments in the areas of Mission Planning and real-time Mission Execution Systems for AUV's.
