Abstract
Seaware is a publish-subscribe middleware used in multi-vehicle networked systems composed of autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles and systems. Seaware provides a high level interface to network communications and may be deployed with a combination of heterogeneous components within a dynamic network. Seaware supports the RTPS (Real Time Publish Subscribe) protocol, underwater acoustic modems and other forms of network transport. This paper gives an overview of Seaware's implementation and its application to multi-vehicle networked systems.

Abstract
This paper highlights some specific aspects concerning the computational techniques for performing distribution system loss allocation including the impact of the distributed generation. The aspects addressed include the approximations related to the nearly-quadratic dependence of the total losses on the load power and the treatment of the voltage-controllable local generation. Examples showing the time evolution of the loss allocation coefficients with variable load and generation patterns are provided. © 2006 IEEE.

Abstract
This paper reports the main results relative to a project concerning the development of a simulation-based scheduler (System SABE - Sistema de Apoio an Balanceamento e Escalonamento) for a manufacturing system, in a large Portuguese footwear industry. The physical system under consideration is, basically, a flexible flow line (the Transporter) and an automatic warehouse, which supplies the line with boxes containing the mix of components. The implementation of such a system is a response to the need of technological innovation to face new challenges in this fashion industrial sector. The flexibility of the line allows the system to manufacture simultaneously various products in lower quantities, but it also increases the complexity of the line balancing and the automatic selection of the boxes, from the warehouse - therefore the relevance of a software system to support production scheduling in the lines. The simulation model is described and it is explained that it may be used to analyse an ongoing production plan and to effectively support and guide the scheduling of all the operations in the line. The simulation package used is SIMPLE ++. The main results, which can be obtained by the system SABE, are presented. Conclusions are drawn, in particular the practical advantages reported by the footwear industry.

Abstract
The INteger-valued AutoRegressive (INAR) processes were introduced in the literature by Al-Osh and Alzaid [1987. First-order integer-valued autoregressive (INAR(l)) process. J. Time Ser. Anal. 8, 261-275] and McKenzie [1988. Some ARMA models for dependent sequences of Poisson counts. Adv. Appl. Probab. 20, 822-835] for modelling correlated series of counts. These processes have been considered as the discrete counter part of AR processes, but their highly nonlinear characteristics lead to some statistically challenging problems, namely in parameter estimation. Several estimation procedures have been proposed in the literature, mainly for processes of first order. For some of these estimators the asymptotic properties as well as finite sample properties have been obtained and studied. This paper considers Yule-Walker parameter estimation for the pth-order integer-valued autoregressive, INAR(p), process. In particular, the asymptotic distribution of the Yule-Walker estimator is obtained and it is shown that this estimator is asymptotically normally distributed, unbiased and consistent.
