Abstract
In recent years, mobile learning has merged as an educational approach to decrease the limitation of learning location and adapt the teaching-learning process to all type of students. However, the large number and variety of Web-enabled devices poses challenges for Web content creators who want to automatic get the delivery context and adapt the content to mobile devices. In this paper we study several approaches to adapt the learning content to mobile phones. We present an architecture for deliver uniform m-Learning content to students in a higher School. The system development is organized in two phases: firstly enabling the educational content to mobile devices and then adapting it to all the heterogeneous mobile platforms. With this approach, Web authors will not need to create specialized pages for each kind of device, since the content is automatically transformed to adapt to any mobile device capabilities from WAP to XHTML MP-compliant devices.

Abstract
This paper presents a methodology to make EV able to contribute to secondary frequency regulation, by participating in Automatic Generation Control (AGC). The aggregator entity is used in this methodology to act as intermediate between the AGC and the EV controllers. The case-study used is an approximation of the Portuguese transmission/generation network, including existing tie lines with Spain, to which a solid three-phase short circuit was applied. After the disturbance, the impact of EV in the AGC operation was studied for two different situations: EV contributing to secondary frequency regulation and EV behaving as uncontrollable loads. The results obtained for both situations were then compared, in terms of interconnection active power flows in the existing tie-lines and its re-establishment time. ©2010 IEEE.

SENSORS AND ACTUATORS B-CHEMICAL

Abstract
In this Work a new configuration of a refractometric sensor for aqueous solutions based on the combination of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with fibre Bragg gratings (FBG) is presented. Two FBGs are selected having reflection maxima in each side of the plasmon resonance peak. These FBGs enable a different processing scheme for the information provided by the SPR transducer. This improved interrogation method increases the sensitivity and resolution of the sensor compared with those obtained with the usual method of tracking the spectral transmittance minimum and makes the system performance independent of optical Source power fluctuations. The experimental results obtained with a double-layer uniform-waist tapered fibre show the feasibility of this approach and its applicability in SPR-based biosensors that Must face very exigent measuring conditions.

Abstract
Grapevine phenology observations are essential for ecological adaptability of grape varieties, crop management and crop modelling. Phenological events have traditionally been ground based, with observations mainly providing information concerning grape varieties over a limited spatial area and few in-season observations. Time-series of satellite imagery can rapidly provide a synoptic and objective view of grape vegetation dynamics that may be used for vineyard management. Ten-day VEGETATION image composites from 1999 to 2007 were used to examine temporal profile in the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and their relationship with ground based observation of grapevine phenology. In Portugal is Douro wine region, 2 suitable tests sites with over 70% or more of their area occupied by grapevines were selected. A number of NDVI metrics were obtained for each year through logistic model adjusted to NDVI time series after noise reduction using a Savitzky-Golay filter. The comparison of ground-based vineyard phenology and satellite-derived flowering, show an average spread deviation of 3 days. The satellite derived full canopy date was significantly correlated to the veraison date (r=0.87; n=7; p<0.02). The data set provided by the VEGETATION sensor proved to be a valuable tool for vineyard monitoring, mainly for inter-annual comparisons on regional scale.

Abstract
Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) are critical components of todays software. Given their increased relevance, correctness and usability of GUIs are becoming essential. This paper describes the latest results in the development of our tool to reverse engineer the GUI layer of interactive computing systems. We use static analysis techniques to generate models of the user interface behaviour from source code. Models help in graphical user interface inspection by allowing designers to concentrate on its more important aspects. One particular type of model that the tool is able to generate is state machines. The paper shows how graph theory can be useful when applied to these models. A number of metrics and algorithms are used in the analysis of aspects of the user interface's quality. The ultimate goal of the tool is to enable analysis of interactive system through GUIs source code inspection. © 2010, Universitatsbibliothek TU Berlin.
