Abstract
The increased integration of wind power into the grid poses challenges due to its intermittency. Besides, deregulation of the energy markets brings electricity prices uncertainty. Hence, a new hybrid intelligent approach is proposed in this paper to forecast wind power and electricity prices in the short-term. Results from real-world case studies are presented, in order to illustrate the proficiency of the proposed approach. Finally, conclusions are duly drawn.

Abstract
The production, distribution and consumption of information goods have evolved through continuous disruptions. Presently, these activities are being disrupted by the Internet and digital technology revolutions, which challenge established practices. P2P content diffusion is playing a key role in this process. This technology has frequently been regarded as intrinsically "ill-purposed", but this view is changing and it has begun to see some commercial use, even if timid and fraught with obstacles. In this article, we analyze the present use of P2P technologies in content diffusion. Based on previously developed work, we identify the economic root of the present problems and discuss possible solutions. Finally, we describe a possible P2P architecture, currently being implemented, that could be used to support the alternative business models needed to fully exploit Internet's potential and deliver content to the users in friendly way. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract
The paper introduces a vision on the design of distributed manufacturing control systems using the multi-agent principles to enhance the integration of the production and quality control processes. It is highlighted how agent technology may enforce interaction of manufacturing execution system and distributed control system, enhancing the exploitation of the available information at the quality control and process control levels. A specific focus is made on a suitable engineering methodology for the design and realization of such concept. Innovation is also presented at the level of adaptive process control and self-optimizing quality control, with examples related to a home appliance production line.

Abstract
In this paper, a detailed description of a control architecture for managing the DC link control of EVs with multiple energy sources is presented. The proposed topology allows the control of the power flow among supercapacitors and batteries, while ensuring the regulation of the DC link voltage, thanks to a cascade of voltage and current linear controllers. A simple analytical study is provided to illustrate the tuning guidelines for the current and voltage, based on proportional + integral controllers. A prototype system has been designed and built in reduced scale hardware to analyze the performance of the proposed control system. The experimental results are in accordance with the simulations and demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed control technique. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to design a composite strain rosette using embedded fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors. Those strain rosettes are meant to be used as alternative to the conventional electric rosettes in structural health monitoring applications being glued at the structure surface. A thin (400 mu m) and flexible weaved carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composite rosette is proposed. The three FBG sensors were written in a single optical fiber. Special care was devoted to the embedding process of the optical fiber sensors in the weaved composite plate in order to avoid significant alteration of the light reflected back by the FBG. The strain response of the composite rosette was compared to electrical strain gage's when applied at the surface of an aluminium sample submitted to tension, flexion and to dynamic strain.
