Abstract
The main purpose of this work is to study the biomechanical behaviour of a peripheral nerve tissue when submitted to mechanical stretching forces. Nerve injury reduces life quality and has a strong impact on the national productivity, so it is essential to study the biomechanical properties of peripheral nerves to improve the repair and regeneration procedure. The study was conducted on a 2D and a 3D model of a sciatic nerve bifurcation in the lower thigh. These models were inspired on a real nerve bifurcation and have been developed using several computational tools. It was used the finite element method (FEM), Radial Point Interpolation Method (RPIM) and Neighbour Radial Point Interpolation Method (NNRPIM) to perform the analyses in FEMAS (R). The results of the analysis with the three different methods are very similar, the main stress is observed always in the same region in both 2D and 3D models and the displacement results for the selected points in the two models are concordant. The results obtained by the three different analysis methods are very similar which not only allow to conclude that these methods are appropriate numerical tools to analyse the biomechanical behaviour of peripheral nerve tissue but also confirms the robustness of the used methods.

Abstract
The tourism sector has become one of the most important engines of economic growth for many countries. With the evolution of Information and Communication Technologies, new opportunities have arisen for a reengineering in the way the various tourism and hospitality industries interact with tourists. Equally, new possibilities open to the entities that vision to promote the patrimony and endogenous products of their regions. Information and Communication Technologies are today one of the most critical areas for the success of tourism and how tourist destinations can be promoted. Tourists, increasingly a digital generation, expect that the access to information and services be done in an innovative, immersive and contextualized way, through the use of technologies that are embedded in their daily lives. This article discusses the touristic routes creation process and the role of Information and Communication Technologies in the creation and support of touristic routes. Also, a technological model is presented in its conceptual perspective, as well the functional modelling of its main components and features. © 2019 International Business Information Management Association (IBIMA).

Abstract
Assim o recurso a um sistema de aquisição de dados revelou-se fundamental na identificação do início da consolidação primária, permitindo assim o alargar do espetro de aplicabilidade do ensaio.;This paper exposes the applicability study of the oedometer test to an existing silty sand soil, from the city of Braganza, with the purpose to verify the applicability of this test to soils with fines in his composition, in a region with predominance of granite residual soils, considering that the granulometric curve of these soils are substantially different from the granulometric curves of the soils that are usually tested. For this, two types of soils were collected, namely intact samples of a silty sand, and a disturbed soil sample whose grains size distribution curve built into laboratory corresponds to a high plasticity silt. Due to the greater predominance of fines in the high plasticity silt, the mechanical behaviour of this soil, more conditioned by forces of an electrochemical nature, serves as a comparative term to the mechanical behaviour of the undisturbed samples of the silty sand, with a behaviour less dependent on these forces, thus allowing to show applicability of the test to soils with lower percentage of fines, with a more pronounced gravitational behaviour and, therefore, more atypical to the oedometer test. From the results obtained for silty sand, a high value of the immediate settlement was verified after each applied load cycle. Thus this observation, the beginning of the consolidation process demands high accurate recording of the settlement that clearly identify the time that primary consolidation begins. In this way, the implementation of the data acquisition system, allowing the correct reading of the consolidation beginning, minimizing human errors, expands the spectrum of soils existing in the region that can be study by the consolidation problematics point of view.

Abstract
This paper presents the Adaptive Decision Support for Electricity Markets Negotiations (AiD-EM) system. AiD-EM is a multi-agent system that provides decision support to market players by incorporating multiple sub-(agent-based) systems, directed to the decision support of specific problems. These sub-systems make use of different artificial intelligence methodologies, such as machine learning and evolutionary computing, to enable players adaptation in the planning phase and in actual negotiations in auction-based markets and bilateral negotiations. AiD-EM demonstration is enabled by its connection to MASCEM (Multi-Agent Simulator of Competitive Electricity Markets).

Technological Forecasting and Social Change

Abstract
Social media are privileged vehicles to generate rich data created with unprecedented multi-faceted insights to drive faster ideation and commercialisation of client-centric innovations. The essence of data generated through social media is rooted in the connections and relationships it enables between firms and their stakeholders, and represents one of the greatest assets for data-driven innovation. As most of the firms are still experiencing and trailblazing in this matter, the current challenge is therefore to learn how to benefit from social media's potential for innovation purposes. In the last decade, research interest has increased towards understanding social media – innovation interactions. The reliance on the wisdom of the crowd in driving major business decisions and shaping society's way of life is now well acknowledged in academic and business literature. Social media is increasingly used as a tool to manage knowledge flows within and across organisation boundaries in the process of innovation. Yet, conceptualisation of social media and innovation interaction and a systematic review of how far the field has come remains providential. Therefore, through a systematic literature review we aim to identify research trends and gaps in the field, conceptualise current paradigmatic views and therein provide clear propositions to guide future research. Based on a systematic review, 111 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and found in EBSCO Host® and Scopus® databases are descriptively analysed, with results synthesized across current research trends. Findings suggest social media is seen as enabler and driver of innovation, with behavioural and resource based perspectives being the most popular theoretical lens used by researchers. The originality of the paper is rooted in the comprehensive search and systematic review of studies in the discourse, which have not been unified to date. Implications for advancement of knowledge are embedded in the purposefully proposed theoretical, contextual and methodological perspectives, providing future research directions for exploring social media capability in innovation management.
