JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING-JOE

Abstract
This article proposes the optimal coordination problem of protective relays within a hybrid optimisation framework which is presented based on integer coded genetic algorithm (ICGA) and non-linear programming (NLP). The optimal coordination problem of directional overcurrent relays (DOCRs) is implemented while aimed at finding the optimal plug setting multiplier (PSM) and time dial setting (TDS). In this respect, PSM is a function of the current transformer (CT) size and the tap of the relay which is discrete in nature. TDS is a function of the operating time of the relay for different short-circuit currents at different locations of the system. Here, the variables of the problem are decomposed into continuous and discrete variables. The first stage of the problem uses the ICGA to determine the size of CTs considering the permitted tap of relays while the second stage utilises the NLP method to evaluate the feasibility and optimality. The presented framework is then simulated on an 8-bus test system. The obtained results verify the effectiveness and the applicability of the optimisation technique to find the optimal settings of DOCRs.

JOURNAL OF TOURISM AND SERVICES

Abstract
Online booking services for accommodation have gained increasing importance in the tourist services provided by tour operators. However, one of the major difficulties associated with this process is the choice of payment method that may be appropriate to the needs and desires of tourists. In this sense, this study intends to identify the main dimensions that characterize each of the payment methods and, for each of them, seeks to characterize the tourists' perception of the main advantages and limitations associated with them. This study adopts a quantitative analysis methodology through the use of an online survey. A final sample of 238 responses was considered. The data were explored using Stata software and adopting statistical inference methods based on the analysis of variance. The findings allow us to conclude that cash payment is the payment method that simultaneously presents better availability and easiness. However, it is also the most insecure of the considered payment methods. For its part, the debit card is considered the safest method. This study didn't intend to analyze the evolution of these payment methods over time. Furthermore, other emerging payment methods such as NFC, QR codes, mobile wallets have gained recent relevance and may be interesting their inclusion in future studies. The results are mainly relevant for tourism agencies and demonstrate that tourists' perception is conditioned mainly by their age and the number of performed trips.

2019 14TH IBERIAN CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES (CISTI)

Abstract
Readability is determined by the characteristics of the text that influence their understanding. The web is composed of content on various topics and the results retrieved in the top positions by the main search engines are expected to be those with the highest number of views. In this study, we analyzed the readability of web pages according to the topic to which it belongs and their position in the search result. For that, we collected the top-20 results retrieved by Google to 23,779 queries from 20 topics and used several readability metrics. The results of the analysis showed that the content from organizations (like colleges and other institutions) and health-related content have lower readability values. Categories Games and Home are on the opposite side. For the categories identified as having less readability, tools can be developed that help the user understand their content. We also found that top-ranked pages have higher values of readability. One can conclude that, directly or indirectly, readability is a factor that seems to be being considered by the Google search engine or has an influence on page popularity.

FOURTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON APPLICATIONS OF OPTICS AND PHOTONICS

Abstract
This paper proposes the use of nematic liquid crystals as tunable setups to implement optical analogues of physical systems and phenomena that are hard or even impossible to study experimentally under controlled conditions. Optical analogues share the same physical model with the systems that they emulate and can be understood as a form of physical simulations or optical computation. However, their success relies not only on the existence of media with optical properties capable of emulating the models associated with the original system as they interact with light, but also on the possibility of being able to tune those properties in order to cover the multitude of conditions or range of parameters. In particular, the Schrodinger-Newton model is a good target for this kind of studies as it can describe a plethora of different phenomena in physics and can be implemented in the laboratory using optical analogues, usually using thermo-optical materials. However, such materials have limitations, and in this work we propose nematic liquid crystals as a more advantageous alternative. We discuss how nematic liquid crystals can be used as a tunable support medium for optical analogues of superfluids by analyzing the dispersion relation of light under specific conditions and using numerical simulations based on GPGPU supercomputing to verify our findings. Extending on this, we explore more direct manifestations of superfluid effects in nematic liquid crystals, such as drag-force cancellation in the superfluid regime and the possibility of creating a roton-minimum in the dispersion relation.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Abstract
A multi-objective wind farm integration framework is proposed in this paper which considers the composite generation and reliability assessment and annualized operating and investment cost evaluation. An emission-controlled policy is adopted such that the amount of SOx and NOx decreases in line with renewable resource planning. Since the incorporation of large-scale distant wind farms is a problem of the multi-objective mixed-integer type with nonlinearities and non-convexities, this paper utilizes a fast elicit multi-objective Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA II) by probabilistic indices. It is noted that the impacts of the unavailability of the transmission system are modeled employing DC Optimal Power Flow (OPF) based on the incidence matrix together with the static security evaluation. Furthermore, in order to assess the performance of the suggested approach, the model is implemented on the Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS). Afterwards, distant wind farms integration into Iran's South-West Regional Grid (ISWRG) is studied. © 2019
