INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS WITH APPLICATIONS
Abstract
Low-code tools are a trend in software development for business solutions due to their agility and ease of use. There are a certain number of vendors with such solutions. Still, in most Western countries, there is a clear need for the existence of greater quantities of certified and experienced professionals to work with those tools. This means that companies with more resources can attract and maintain those professionals, whilst other smaller organizations must rely on an endless search for this scarce resource. We will present and validate a model designed to transform ChatGPT into a low-code developer, addressing the demand for a more skilled human resource solution. This innovative tool underwent rigorous validation via a focus group study, engaging a panel of highly experienced experts. Their invaluable insights and feedback on the proposed model were systematically gathered and meticulously analysed.

Abstract
The domain of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is becoming a key candidate to enable safer and efficient mobility in IoT enabled smart cities. Several recent research in cooperative autonomous systems are conducted over simulation frameworks as real experiments are still too costly. In this paper, we present a platooning robotic test-bed platform with a 1/10 scale robotic vehicles that functions based on the input front commercially off the shelf technologies (COTS) such as Lidars and cameras. We also present an in-depth analysis of the functionalities and architecture of the proposed system. We also compare the performance of the aforementioned sensors in some real-life emulated scenarios. From our results, we were able to concur that the camera based platooning is able to perform well at partially observable scenarios than its counterpart.

Abstract
Artificial intelligence and machine learning have been widely applied in several areas with the twofold goal of improving people’s well-being and accelerating computational processes. This may be seen in medical assistance (e.g., automatic verification of MRI images) and in personal assistants that adapt the content to the user based on his/her preferences, to optimize query response times in relational databases and accelerate the information retrieval process. Most of machine learning algorithms used need a dataset to train on, so that the resulting models can be used, for example, to predict a value or enable user-specific results. Considering predictive methods, when new data arrives, a new training of the model may be needed. Speculative computation is a machine learning subfield that seeks to enable computation to be one step ahead of the user by speculating the value that will be received to be computed. A change in the environment may affect the execution, but the adjustments are rapidly performed. This paper intends to provide an overview of the field of speculative computation, describing its main characteristics and advantages, and different scenarios of the medical field in which it is applied. It also provides a critical and comparative analysis with other machine learning methods and a description of how to apply different algorithms to create better systems.

Abstract
The massive industrialization of products in a factory environment requires testing the product at a stage before its exportation to the sales market. For example, the end-of-line tests at Continental Advanced Antenna contribute to the validation of an antenna's functionality, a product manufactured by this organization. In addition, the storage of information from the testing process allows the data manipulation through automated machine learning algorithms in search of a beneficial contribution. Studies in this area (automatic learning/machine learning) lead to the search and development of tools designed with objectives such as preventing anomalies in the production line, predictive maintenance, product quality assurance, forecast demand, forecasting safety problems, increasing resources, proactive maintenance, resource scalability, reduced production time, and anomaly detection, isolation, and correction. Once applied to the manufacturing environment, these advantages make the EOL system more productive, reliable, and less time-consuming. This way, a tool is proposed that allows the visualization and previous detection of trends associated with faults in the antenna testing system. Furthermore, it focuses on predicting failures at Continental's EOL.

MACHINE LEARNING
Abstract
The early detection of anomalous events in time series data is essential in many domains of application. In this paper we deal with critical health events, which represent a significant cause of mortality in intensive care units of hospitals. The timely prediction of these events is crucial for mitigating their consequences and improving healthcare. One of the most common approaches to tackle early anomaly detection problems is through standard classification methods. In this paper we propose a novel method that uses a layered learning architecture to address these tasks. One key contribution of our work is the idea of pre-conditional events, which denote arbitrary but computable relaxed versions of the event of interest. We leverage this idea to break the original problem into two hierarchical layers, which we hypothesize are easier to solve. The results suggest that the proposed approach leads to a better performance relative to state of the art approaches for critical health episode prediction.

Abstract
Industry 4.0 was publicly introduced in Germany in 2011 and is known as the fourth industrial revolution, whose goal is to improve manufacturing processes and increase the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry. Industry 4.0 uses technological concepts such as Cyber-Physical Systems, Internet of Things and Cloud Computing to create services, reduce costs and increase productivity in industry. This paper aims to explore the use of context-aware applications in Industry 4.0 in order to assist workers in decision making and thus improve the performance of factory production lines. This literature review is part of the project “Continental AA’s Factory of the Future” (Continental FoF) and will integrate a context-aware system in Industry 4.0 of the mentioned company, which is a manufacturer of radio frequency devices for the automotive industry. This systematic literature review identifies, from the researched solutions, the concept of context and context-awareness, the main technologies used in context-aware systems, how context management is performed, as well as the most used integration and communication protocols. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
