Abstract
Nowadays, a large number of people consume music from the web. Web sites and online services now typically contain millions of music tracks, which complicates search, retrieval, and discovery of music. Music recommender systems can address these issues by recommending relevant and novel music to a user based on personal musical tastes. In this paper, we propose a hybrid music recommender system, which combines usage and content data. We describe an online evaluation experiment performed in real-time on a commercial web site, specialized in content from the very Long Tail of music content. We compare it against two stand-alone recommender systems, the first system based on usage and the second one based on content data (namely, audio and textual tags). The results show that the proposed hybrid recommender shows advantages with respect to usage-based and content-based systems, namely, higher user absolute acceptance rate, higher user activity rate and higher user loyalty.

Abstract
One of the major issues in the modeling of subwavelength optical materials resides in how to compute the effective properties of such media. An efficient technique must be able to describe appropriately the electromagnetic response of the overall structure. Within this context, this work is focused on the calculation of effective parameters of metallic silver nanowires embedded in alumina background. An algorithm based on modal propagation is considered in order to estimate the refractive index at the visible spectrum. The resonances obtained in the computing model are compared to the predictions of analytical Bruggeman and Maxell-Garnett theories and analyzed by regarding excitation of surface modes at the metal-dielectric interface.

Architectures and Protocols for Secure Information Technology Infrastructures
Abstract
The massive growth of the Internet and its services is currently being sustained by the mercantilization of users' identities and private data. Traditional services on the Web require the user to disclose many unnecessary sensitive identity attributes like bankcards, geographic position, or even personal health records in order to provide a service. In essence, the services are presented as free and constitute a means by which the user is mercantilized, often without realizing the real value of its data to the market. In this chapter the auhors describe OFELIA (Open Federated Environment for Leveraging of Identity and Authorization), a digital identity architecture designed from the ground up to be user centric. OFELIA is an identity/authorization versatile infrastructure that does not depend upon the massive aggregation of users' identity attributes to offer a highly versatile set of identity services but relies instead on having those attributes distributed among and protected by several otherwise unrelated Attribute Authorities. Only the end user, with his smartphone, knows how to aggregate these scattered Attribute Authorities' identity attributes back into some useful identifiable and authenticated entity identity that can then be used by Internet services in a secure and interoperable way.

Abstract
The measurement of shear wave velocity (Vs) is an established approach in contributing to earthquake site response. In situ dispersive wave measurements are one of the ways of determining Vs to a certain depth. Rayleigh type measurements have had a significant development in the past two decades. Since Spectral Analysis of Surface Waves measurements appeared, in the late 80s and early 90s, other approaches have developed. The later Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves method (MASW), that took advantage of the engineering seismograph and the increasing number software routines that became available, greatly enhanced the confidence of this type of in situ results towards assessing the shear wave velocity profile of the near surface. Thus within this work we aim to show the results of 27 dispersive wave tests, made for 48 educational facilities located in 20 villages of the Chong-Alay district, Osh oblast, Kyrgyz Republic. The results of these seismic tests contributed towards the micro seismic wider hazard assessment study we performed.

JOURNAL OF ALLOYS AND COMPOUNDS
Abstract
Single phase Bi0.7La0.3FeO3 ceramic samples were successfully synthesized by sol-gel combustion and co-precipitation methods, performing a final sintering at 820-870 degrees C from 10 up to 180 min. Rietveld refinements of the XRD data detected small satellite peaks that were successfully indexed by an incommensurated modulated structure model. Lanthanum doping improves magnetic response, reduces the leakage current and dielectric losses. The piezoelectric coefficient was reported for the first time in the Bi0.7La0.3FeO3 composition.
