Abstract
In medical organizations, healthcare providers need to have fast access to patients' medical information in order to make accurate diagnoses as well as to provide appropriate treatments. Efficient healthcare is thus highly dependent on doctors being provided with access to patients' medical information at the right time and place. However it frequently happens that critical pieces of pertinent information end up not being used because they are located in information systems that do not inter-operate in a timely manner. Unfortunately the standard operational mode for many healthcare applications, and even healthcare institutions, is to be managed and operated as isolated islands that do not share information in an efficient manner. There are many reasons that contribute to this grim state of affairs, but what interests us the most is the lack of enforceable security policies for systems interoperability and data exchange and the existence of many heterogeneous legacy systems that are almost impossible to directly include into any reasonable secure interoperable workflow. In this paper we propose a RBAC mobile agent access control model supported by a specially managed public key infrastructure for mobile agent's strong authentication and access control. Our aim is to create the right means for doctors to be provided with timely accurate information, which would be otherwise inaccessible, by the means of strongly authenticated mobile agents capable of securely bridging otherwise isolated institutional eHealth domains and legacy applications.

FROM SOUNDS TO MUSIC AND EMOTIONS
Abstract
This paper describes the creative and technical processes behind earGram, an application created with Pure Data for real-time concatenative sound synthesis. The system encompasses four generative music strategies that automatically rearrange and explore a database of descriptor-analyzed sound snippets (corpus) by rules other than their original temporal order into musically coherent outputs. Of note are the system's machine-learning capabilities as well as its visualization strategies, which constitute a valuable aid for decision-making during performance by revealing musical patterns and temporal organizations of the corpus.

Re-Engineering Manufacturing for Sustainability - Proceedings of the 20th CIRP International Conference on Life Cycle Engineering
Abstract
Nowadays achieving sustainable development is a global concern. The issue of unsustainability can be related to population growth and excessive consumption of natural resources. To tackle these issues, several management tools and methodologies have been developed in the last years, to assess, analyse and improve the environmental and economic performance of production systems. This work presents an approach based value stream mapping in order to assess and improve energy efficiency, environmental performance and financial performance of a production system. The developed approach can be applied to any industry or production system, where all the unit processes involved are identified and the inputs/outputs of each unit system quantified and easily perceived. Key environmental performance indicators and the corresponding eco-efficiency ratios arise as outcomes of this approach, in which a Multi-Layer Stream Mapping (MSM) with visual management attributes is created.

Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing
Abstract
In traditional learning, teachers can easily get an insight into how their students work and learn and how they interact in the classroom. However, in online learning, it is more difficult for teachers to see how individual students behave. With the enormous growing of e-learning platforms, as complementary or even primary tool to support learning in organizations, monitoring students' success factors becomes a crucial issue. In this paper we focus on the importance of stress in the learning process. Stress detection in an E-learning environment is an important and crucial factor to success. Estimating, in a non-invasive way, the students' levels of stress, and taking measures to deal with it, is then the goal of this paper. Moodle, by being one of the most used e-learning platforms is used to test the log tool referred in this work. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2013.
