Abstract
Identifying hand configuration is a critical feature of sign language translation. In this paper, we describe our approach to recognize hand configurations in real time with the purpose of providing accurate predictions to be used in automatic sign language translation. To capture the hand configuration we rely on data gloves with 14 sensors that measure finger joints bending. These inputs are sampled at a frequency of 100Hz and fed to a classifier that predicts the current hand configuration. The classification model is created from an annotated sample of hand configurations previously acquired. We expect this approach to be accurate and robust in the sense that the performance of the classification model should not vary significantly when the classifier is being used by one or another user. The results from our experimental evaluation show that there is a very high accuracy, meaning that data gloves are a good approach to capture the descriptive features of hand configurations. However, the robustness of such an approach is not as good as desirable since the accuracy of the classifier depends on the user, i.e., the accuracy is high when the classifier is used by a user who trained it but decreases in other cases.

Abstract
Concurrent C0 is an imperative programming language in the C family with session-typed messagepassing concurrency. The previously proposed semantics implements asynchronous (non-blocking) output; we extend it here with non-blocking input. A key idea is to postpone message reception as much as possible by interpreting receive commands as a request for a message. We implemented our ideas as a translation from a blocking intermediate language to a non-blocking language. Finally, we evaluated our techniques with several benchmark programs and show the results obtained. While the abstract measure of span always decreases (or remains unchanged), only a few of the examples reap a practical benefit.

Abstract
This paper aims to present, define and structure the car rental fleet management problem, which includes operational fleet management issues and problems traditionally studied under the revenue management framework. The car rental business has challenging and distinctive characteristics, which are mainly related with fleet and decision-making flexibility, and that render this problem relevant for academic research and practical applications. Three main contributions are presented: an in-depth literature review and discussion on car rental fleet and revenue management issues, a novel integrating conceptual framework for this problem, and the identification of research directions for the future development of the field.

Abstract
Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) is one of the many treatments for patients with advanced kidney disease. It is a treatment that needs regular monitoring and understanding of all the factors of blood and urine samples of each patient to understand if the treatment is going well. This article will explore data information from patients undergoing CAPD procedure. This data information helps to comprehend how interoperability acts in a Health Information System since this data contains patients' personal information but also patients' blood and urine samples' results, meaning all the services must be connected. In this work, it is used Business Intelligence process to prove that all the information available can be useful to understand the treatment above-mentioned and also how can several factors influence or not the number of patients going through kidney failure and CAPD by the study of indicators.

IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SUSTAINABLE ENERGY
Abstract
In this study, a two-stage stochastic programming joint day-ahead energy and reserve scheduling model to address uncertainty in wind power generation is developed. Apart from the generation side, the demand side is also eligible as a reserve resource and is modeled through responsive load aggregations, as well as large industrial loads that directly participate in the scheduling procedure. The main contribution of this paper is the inclusion of a risk metric, namely the conditional value-at-risk, which renders a conceptually different resource scheduling framework. The proposed model is employed in order to analyze the behavior of energy and reserve scheduling by both generation and demand for a risk-averse independent system operator. To reach practical conclusions, the proposed methodology is tested on the real non-interconnected insular power system of Crete, Greece, which is characterized by a significant penetration of wind power generation.
