Abstract
The Pyramid wave-front sensor (WFS) is currently the baseline for several future adaptive optics (AO) systems, including the First light systems planned for the era of Extremely Large Telescopes (ELTs). Extensive investiga-tion into the Pyramid WFS aim to prepare for this new generation of AO systems, characterizing its behavior under realistic conditions and developing experimental procedures to optimise performance. An AO bench at Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille has been developed to analyze the behavior of the Pyramid and develop the necessary operational and calibration routines to optimize performance. The test bench comprises a Pyramid WFS, an ALPAO 9-9 deformable mirror (DM), a rotating phase screen to simulate atmospheric turbulence and imaging camera. The Pyramid WFS utilizes the low noise OCAM2 camera to image the four pupils and real time control is realized using the adaptive optics simulation software OOMAO (Object Oriented Matlab Adaptive Optics toolbox).1 Here we present the latest experimental results from the Pyramid test bench, including comparison with current Pyramid models and AO simulations. We focus on the calibration of the AO system and testing the impact of non-linear effects on the performance of the Pyramid. The results demonstrate good agreement with our current models, in particular with the addition of more realistic elements: non-common path aberrations and the optical quality of the Pyramid prism.

Abstract
Recently, many historical texts have become digitized and made accessible for search and browsing. Professionals who work with collections of such texts often need to verify the correctness of documents' key metadata-their creation dates. In this paper, we demonstrate an interactive system for estimating the age of documents. It may be useful not only for tagging a large number of undated documents, but also for verifying already known timestamps. In order to infer probable dates, we rely on a large scale lexical corpora, Google Books Ngrams. Besides estimating the document creation year, the system also outputs evidences to support age detection and reasoning process and allows testing different hypotheses about document's age.

Abstract
Photovoltaic systems (PVS) based MicroGrid (MG) should be able to operate at the maximum power point (MPP) in order to extract the maximum available power during atmospheric conditions changes. In addition to this, the PVSs should be able also to operate below the MPP in order to participate to the MG regulation such as grid frequency stabilization, voltage profile control and grid management support. This paper discusses the state of the art of operation and control of PVS in MG. Design and control of a single stage single phase PVS connected to a low voltage AC MG are presented and analyzed. A comparison between two current control methods, Proportional integral with grid voltage feed forward (PI+FF) and proportional resonant with selective harmonics compensation (PR+HC) is also made. The control structures are validated through dynamic simulation. © 2016 IEEE.

Abstract
This paper presents a multimode fiber sensor that uses surface plasmon resonance on a metallic wire to measure refractive index. Numerical simulations based on the finite element method reveal the sensor supports several plasmon modes in the wire capable of coupling with the multiples optical fiber modes. Therefore, the sensor configuration creates multiple resonances at different wavelengths, with different values of the loss, sensitivity, among other parameters. Choosing the appropriate mode and filtering out the rest of the modes allows to optimize the sensor performance. In the present work a sensitivity of 5340nm/RIU and resolution of 1.87x10(-6) RIU were found.

Abstract
In nights at Cerro Paranal where good seeing and low wind conditions are present, the PSF delivered to the focal plane of the SPHERE instrument has been shown to have significant errors, and have been aptly described as the Low Wind Effect' (LWE). We demonstrate here a method to quantify the LWE using experimental and on-sky data. We find single image phase diversity is a useful tool in quantifying the LWE and can be used to monitor this effect over the course of the night.
