Abstract
The article refers to a new model of genetic algorithm. The method used has finality of optimize the filtering of artifacts in DICOM images in two-steps.The first step is constituted by filterings with BM4D, 3d median filter and ellipsoid filter. The second step is formed by the application of operators of simple mutations in the previously recovered image, for that was used: intensity change, gaussian filter and mean filter. As a result, a better performance filter was obtained and which provides an improvement in diagnosis, in diseases assessment and in decisions making by the professional. Copyright

Abstract
We study a model of a Cournot duopoly where firms invest in R&D to reduce their production costs. Depending on the parameters, we may find regions with one, two or three Nash equilibria of the investment. Here, we study the effect of the parameters in these regions, in particular, we study the effect of the possible market saturation, the maximum relative cost reduction and the product differentiation, giving special attention to regions with multiple Nash equilibria. We observed that, in general, the competitive region, where both firms invest, is reduced as we increase the possible market saturation and the differentiation of the products and is enlarged when we increase the maximum relative cost reduction. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Web Information Systems and Technologies, WEBIST 2018, Seville, Spain, September 18-20, 2018.

Abstract
Nowadays, false news can be created and disseminated easily through the many social media platforms, resulting in a widespread real-world impact. Modeling and characterizing how false information proliferates on social platforms and why it succeeds in deceiving readers are critical to develop efficient algorithms and tools for their early detection. A recent surge of researching in this area has aimed to address the key issues using methods based on machine learning, deep learning, feature engineering, graph mining, image and video analysis, together with newly created data sets and web services to identify deceiving content. Majority of the research has been targeting fake reviews, biased messages, and against-facts information (false news and hoaxes). In this work, we present a survey on the state of the art concerning types of fake news and the solutions that are being proposed. We focus our survey on content analysis, network propagation, fact-checking and fake news analysis and emerging detection systems. We also discuss the rationale behind successfully deceiving readers. Finally, we highlight important challenges that these solutions bring. Copyright

Abstract
This paper presents an integrated approach for assessing the impact that distributed energy resources (DERs), mostly intermittent in nature, might have on the reliability performance of distribution networks. A test distribution system based on a typical MV/LV urban distribution network in the UK is fully modelled and controlled to investigate the potential benefits that local renewables and energy storage can offer to the quality of power supply to customers. In this analysis, the conventional Monte Carlo method is further developed to include the time-variation of electricity demand profiles and failure rates of network components. Additionally, a theoretical interruption model is employed to assess more accurately the moment in time when interruptions to electricity customers are likely to occur. Accordingly, the impact of the spatio-temporal variation of DERs, with photovoltaic (PV) systems as key enablers, is quantified in terms of the effect of network outages. A range of smart grid functionalities is analysed and their benefits are assessed through standard reliability indices, with special attention to energy not supplied to customers, as well as frequency and duration of supply interruptions.

EmoSpell, a Morphological and Emotional Word Analyzer

INFORMATION

Abstract
The analysis of sentiments, emotions, and opinions in texts is increasingly important in the current digital world. The existing lexicons with emotional annotations for the Portuguese language are oriented to polarities, classifying words as positive, negative, or neutral. To identify the emotional load intended by the author, it is necessary to also categorize the emotions expressed by individual words. EmoSpell is an extension of a morphological analyzer with semantic annotations of the emotional value of words. It uses Jspell as the morphological analyzer and a new dictionary with emotional annotations. This dictionary incorporates the lexical base EMOTAIX. PT, which classifies words based on three different levels of emotions-global, specific, and intermediate. This paper describes the generation of the EmoSpell dictionary using three sources: the Jspell Portuguese dictionary and the lexical bases EMOTAIX. PT and SentiLex-PT. Additionally, this paper details the Web application and Web service that exploit this dictionary. It also presents a validation of the proposed approach using a corpus of student texts with different emotional loads. The validation compares the analyses provided by EmoSpell with the mentioned emotional lexical bases on the ability to recognize emotional words and extract the dominant emotion from a text.
