Abstract
This paper sets out the challenge of how to provide information auditability to citizens regarding social networks. The aim is to discuss the issues concerning information published on social networks and specifically to describe how to verify the veracity of this information. It is based on the idea that it urgent improvement of interface requirements is necessary for this kind of software to provide users with ways to account for, validate, verify and control information. The paper reports the construction of a catalog of characteristics for information auditability in social networks. An exploratory study suggests mechanisms that can be used to implement these characteristics into this kind of software interface. The conclusion presents remarks on challenges and future studies. © 2014 Springer International Publishing.

Abstract
In the moment that social networks arise as a new source of information, we also started to concern about the information shared in this environment. It is difficult to users of social networks to distinguish the accuracy of the information spreaded. The combination of auditability features and research directions in human-computer interaction area will guide the development of tools for evaluating information. We present prototypes of tools that once available, will allow users to decide about the credibility of information that they access and share. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015.

Designing Auditability in Social Networks to Prevent the Spread of False Information

Autores

Publicação
IEEE Latin America Transactions

Abstract
The spread of rumors, hoaxes and misinformation in online social networks has made urgent the development of tools to help users to verify the credibility of information. Although some developers have already come with solutions, some aspects of human computer interaction in the creation of these tools are still disregarded. This article describes guidelines for development of features to promote auditability of information in social networks. The guidelines were grouped in a guide created from a derivation of a catalog based on information transparency and shows orientations for social network developers on how to avoid the proliferation of false information. © 2003-2012 IEEE.

Abstract
Online credibility is a quality pursued by users, business and brands on Internet. Having a verified page on Facebook means improvement of the social web presence, reliability and reinforcement of security against impersonations of identity, unwanted fake pages and spams. Since the Facebook’s page verification request has become more complex and the requirements to receive a verified page badge are uncertain, this paper describes the use of foundations of transparency on information systems to fulfill the data on the forms of the application for verification to improve the success in receiving the verified page status. © Springer International Publishing AG 2017.

Abstract
Misinformation became pervasive on social media applications. The companies behind this kind of system have launched tools to avoid the problem, but some issues regarding the user behavior and proper software quality still need a forceful approach. First attempts to mitigate misinformation did not take into account user behavior and softwares requirements like learnability and accuracy, furthermore the characteristics of actors and artifacts from social media applications ecosystem has not been explored. This research aims to evaluate the usability of available tools made to combat the spread of misinformation and to verify the interrelationship between actors and artifacts from social media applications ecosystem for suggesting improvements on development of these tools.

Abstract
The lack of mechanisms made to check reliability of information on social networks is evidenced by the spread of misinformation and rumors in this kind of system. Given this scenario, the provision of tools to assist users with information auditability on social networks needs an emergencial approach. This article describes a catalog, followed by a guide of features that provide auditability on social networks. The guide contains guidelines for development of funcionalities in order to promote the adoption of auditability and enable users to identify false information and validate content on social networks. © 2016 for this paper by its authors.
