Abstract
Digital marketing is gaining predominance in marketing strategies across the globe. Digitization is becoming more and more present in business, not just changes in consumer behavior, but the adoption of new technologies, tools, and applications is highly disruptive, with immediate impact on the business of all companies. The common link between digital marketing definitions is the use of tools, namely online tools. One of the biggest changes in human interaction is the recent proliferation of online social networks. Rapid growth of web-based platforms that facilitate online social behavior has significantly modified the nature of human activities, habitats, and interactions. Real-world social relationships have been migrated to the virtual world, resulting in online communities that bring people together from across the globe. This study aims to identify and describe the various digital marketing tools and which of these can be used to increase the SMEs competitiveness.

Domain Adaptation for Heart Rate Extraction in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Abstract
Conventionally, vital sign monitoring for neonatal infants inside the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is performed via probes affixed to their skin. However, such instruments may cause damage to the epidermis and increase the risk of infection as well as promote discomfort to the infant. As an alternative to traditional means of monitoring heart rate, remote Photoplethysmography techniques have been surging among the scientific community. These techniques have been vastly explored for adult subjects but not for neonatal infants, who would greatly benefit from such applications. This study aims at developing a regular consumer camera-based framework for continuous and contactless extraction of the heart rate in adult subjects in challenging conditions and investigating the tool's ability to adapt to a new domain which consists of newborn subjects and the real-world conditions of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. © 2020 IEEE.

Bioethics education and the development of nursing students' moral competence

Abstract
Background: The nurse accompanies individuals throughout their lives and, when in the hospital environment, provides care to those who face illness or injury. Nurses witness numerous situations involving ethical dilemmas that require a prompt and effective response based on ethical and moral principles. Objectives: This study aimed to determine whether bioethics education in nursing influences the level of moral competence and opinion of nursing students about three ethical dilemmas. Methods: A longitudinal study was conducted through the application of the MCTxt (Moral Competence Test extended) questionnaire, composed of three ethical dilemmas (worker, doctor and judge), on two separate occasions (before and after students completed the Bioethics and Nursing Ethics curricular unit, which covered a total of 32 h). Participants: 122 s-year students from a Portuguese nursing school. Results: Nursing students showed a moral competence stagnation (1.2-point difference between the two assessments), although this did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.268). Regarding performance for each of the dilemmas, students showed an increase in performance for the worker's and judge's dilemmas and a sharp decrease in performance for the doctor's dilemma. Conclusions: The support of students by morally competent teachers and monitors, the development of methods that provide the development of critical judgement and decision-making ability, and the increase of hours for the Bioethics course unit seem crucial factors to develop nursing students' moral competence.

Performance enhancement of IEEE 802.15.4 by employing RTS/CTS and frame concatenation

Abstract
IEEE 802.15.4 has been widely accepted as the de facto standard for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). However, as in their current solutions for medium access control (MAC) sub-layer protocols, channel efficiency has a margin for improvement, in this study, the authors evaluate the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC sub-layer performance by proposing to use the request-/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) combined with frame concatenation and block acknowledgement (BACK) mechanism to optimise the channel use. The proposed solutions are studied in a distributed scenario with single-destination and single-rate frame aggregation. The throughput and delay performance is mathematically derived under channel environments without/with transmission errors for both the chirp spread spectrum and direct sequence spread spectrum physical layers for the 2.4 GHz Industrial, Scientific and Medical band. Simulation results successfully verify the authors’ proposed analytical model. For more than seven TX (aggregated frames) all the MAC sub-layer protocols employing RTS/CTS with frame concatenation (including sensor BACK MAC) allow for optimising channel use in WSNs, corresponding to 18–74% improvement in the maximum average throughput and minimum average delay, together with 3.3–14.1% decrease in energy consumption.

Nonlinear Methods Most Applied to Heart-Rate Time Series: A Review

Abstract
The heart-rate dynamics are one of the most analyzed physiological interactions. Many mathematical methods were proposed to evaluate heart-rate variability. These methods have been successfully applied in research to expand knowledge concerning the cardiovascular dynamics in healthy as well as in pathological conditions. Notwithstanding, they are still far from clinical practice. In this paper, we aim to review the nonlinear methods most used to assess heart-rate dynamics. We focused on methods based on concepts of chaos, fractality, and complexity: Poincaré plot, recurrence plot analysis, fractal dimension (and the correlation dimension), detrended fluctuation analysis, Hurst exponent, Lyapunov exponent entropies (Shannon, conditional, approximate, sample entropy, and multiscale entropy), and symbolic dynamics. We present the description of the methods along with their most notable applications.
