Alípio Jorge, researcher at INESC TEC, where he coordinates the Artificial Intelligence area, has joined the new rectoral team at the University of Porto, taking on the role of Vice-Rector.

The city of Porto is preparing to host ADRF26 (AI, Data and Robotics Forum), with INESC TEC serving as the scientific organiser of the conference. This high-impact European forum - which brings together hundreds of stakeholders from industry, academia and policymaking - aims to accelerate innovation and technological transformation. More than 500 participants are expected to attend this year’s edition, taking place from 13 to 14 October at the Alfândega do Porto; tickets are already on sale.

For five days, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) became the meeting point for the international scientific community dedicated to information retrieval, bringing together around 500 experts to discuss search and recommendation models, the integration of language models, and the challenges associated with evaluating and improving the efficiency of these systems. INESC TEC took part in the 48th edition of the European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR 2026) with a team of researchers presenting several scientific papers and organising a workshop.

It is not the fairy tale; but the CINDERELLA project works a kind of magic when it comes to breast cancer treatment. Launched four years ago and now approaching the final stage, the project has already delivered a set of tools designed to help patients and clinical staff realistically anticipate the physical changes resulting from surgery following breast cancer treatment.
