Abstract
In the context of a distributed/agile/virtual enterprise (D/A/VE) and due to the large number of potential candidate resources, it is important to make a selection of those that will give more guarantees in terms of success of this cooperation and bring better performance to D/A/VE. There are several projects of D/A/VE with different approaches to the selection process. Considering the functionalities of the resources selection model of our project, the main objective of this paper is to present the development of a prototype/demonstrator tool to support it. As result a tool, named SelecE A/VV0, was developed and providing following features: pre-selection ofresources with and without integration of the value analysis (VA), and final selection of resources. This tool supports the development of BMVEARM selection model and permits the validation of the importance of VA integration in the final performance of the resources system selected. SENSORS
Abstract
The integration of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors in lithium-ion cells for in-situ and in-operando temperature monitoring is presented herein. The measuring of internal and external temperature variations was performed through four FBG sensors during galvanostatic cycling at C-rates ranging from 1C to 8C. The FBG sensors were placed both outside and inside the cell, located in the center of the electrochemically active area and at the tab-electrode connection. The internal sensors recorded temperature variations of 4.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C at 5C and 4.7 +/- 0.1 degrees C at 8C at the center of the active area, and 3.9 +/- 0.1 degrees C at 5C and 4.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C at 8C at the tab-electrode connection, respectively. This study is intended to contribute to detection of a temperature gradient in real time inside a cell, which can determine possible damage in the battery performance when it operates under normal and abnormal operating conditions, as well as to demonstrate the technical feasibility of the integration of in-operando microsensors inside Li-ion cells.

Abstract
Planning in education is a process that can determine the success of learning. This has major impact in engineering education, where students have to develop complex competences in order to make decisions that can influence the world and humankind. Teachers are reluctant regarding the effective practice of planning educational processes, identifying the lack of time and appropriate pedagogical training as main causes for the problem. Our aim is contribute to solve this problem. This paper presents the exploration of the capabilities of conceptualization of planning by the IMS-LD educational modelling language, through CADMOS authoring tool. To do so we used a learning object of a discipline of a Computer Engineering higher education course. Several specifications were made in CADMOS, based on different learning strategies common used in engineering education. The results show that IMS-LD and CADMOS can help and simplify the planning process for teachers, allowing them to implement changes, reuse and share planning products. Limitations were identified, but they do not preclude the use of the tool for planning.

Abstract
In this 21st century, Portugal faces substantial social challenges. The knowledge society requires
citizens prepared and capable to face the challenge of a globalized and competitive economy, where the use
and access of the technologies of information and communication assume a dominant position. The tasks
of attending to the demands of this new model of social relationships have been showing the absence of a
consolidated social answer. Despite the fact that Portugal has been showing indicators of significative
increases of digital inclusion, a digital divide is still present. Thus, news literacies are required and new forms
of illiteracy will consequently appear.
Most countries in the European Union have been developing programs for strong networks of Public
Libraries, as well as training people for accessing and using public information services. In Portugal only in
the 80's was it possible to initiate the implementation of a net of Public Libraries with adequate infrastructures, what configures a serious delay for facing the defying situation described earlier. It is for
that reason that is essential to understand and develop intervention strategies.
This paper presents part of the results of a research project, supported by the Foundation for the Science
and the Technology, which assess the level of informational skills of Portuguese students in the Higher and
Secondary Education. The assessment, carried out in nine Portuguese cities, intends to evaluate the level of
preparation presented by the students to face, not only the challenges of the information society, but also
the incoming changes of a European Higher Education Area.

SOFTWARE AND SYSTEMS MODELING
Abstract
ReFlO is a framework and interactive tool to record and systematize domain knowledge used by experts to derive complex pipe-and-filter (PnF) applications. Domain knowledge is encoded as transformations that alter PnF graphs by refinement (adding more details), flattening (removing modular boundaries), and optimization (substituting inefficient PnF graphs with more efficient ones). All three kinds of transformations arise in reverse-engineering legacy PnF applications. We present the conceptual foundation and tool capabilities of ReFlO, illustrate how parallel PnF applications are designed and generated, and howdomain-specific libraries of transformations are developed.
