Systematic Functional Testing with Decision Table

Abstract
Context. In view of the high impact that the test activity has to the cost of software development and the great popularity of Functional Testing Techniques, it is observed that it is necessary to seek strategies that reduce the cost associated with testing without significant loss of quality. Purpose. To introduce an evolution of the method Functional Systematic Test (TFS), the Functional Test Systematic table-Decision (TFS-TD), and to compare the efficiency and effectiveness of both by using programs that are simple and available on LINUX distributions. Methodology. It is a quantitative, descriptive and case studies research, for the evaluation of TFS and TFS-TD methods and its comparison. Results. Guidelines and an iterative process for the application of TFS-TD were defined. Also, through the case studies, the effectiveness and efficiency of the method was quantified and confronted to the TFS method. Conclusions. The case studies revealed that the TFS-TD presents considerable savings in test cases with minimal loss in quality.

Design and Evaluation of Novel Textile Wearable Systems for the Surveillance of Vital Signals

Abstract
This article addresses the design, development, and evaluation of T-shirt prototypes that embed novel textile sensors for the capture of cardio and respiratory signals. The sensors are connected through textile interconnects to either an embedded custom-designed data acquisition and transmission unit or to snap fastener terminals for connection to external monitoring devices. The performance of the T-shirt prototype is evaluated in terms of signal-to-noise ratio amplitude and signal interference caused by baseline wander and motion artefacts, through laboratory tests with subjects in standing and walking conditions. Performance tests were also conducted in a hospital environment using a T-shirt prototype connected to a commercial three-channel Holter monitoring device. The textile sensors and interconnects were realized with the assistance of an industrial six-needle digital embroidery tool and their resistance to wear addressed with normalized tests of laundering and abrasion. The performance of these wearable systems is discussed, and pathways and methods for their optimization are highlighted.

Collective Intelligence and Collaboration: A Case Study in Airline Industry

Abstract
In order to improve their competitive performance, airline companies often adopt as a strategy to establish arrangement between two or more organizations agreeing to cooperate on a substantial level. This strategy is often known as airline alliances. A paradigm to analyze the collective intelligence behavior which emerges from a group, as a strategic alliance, is the flocking behavior. Inspired by the Cucker and Smale algorithm (C-S) we propose a new version of the flocking behavior algorithm applied to airline alliances. Our goal is to understand the link between strategic alliances and flocks. For this new approach, metrics were obtained for the parameters of C-S algorithm, namely position, velocity and influence, where the latter uses cooperative games. Besides, reinforcement learning mechanisms have been explored. Some relevant outputs for airline alliances as the permanence rate and the growth rate were computed for each of the five configurations in analysis.

Sexting: Adaptation of sexual behavior to modern technologies

Abstract
This is the first research that aim to analyze the practice of Sexting in Portugal. The goals of this study included comparing the differences between the Sexting dimensions and independent factors (gender, age, literacy qualifications, profession, residence, marital status, existence of a stable relationship, most used media, place of frequent use of the media, most commonly used technological device, security perception of communication technology, number of text messages sent per day, recipients of text messages) and corroborating the existence of correlations between the Sexting dimensions. The study sample consisted of 301 individuals aged between 18 and 52 years (158 adults and 143 young adults) and included both females (169) and males (132). The instruments used included a translated and adapted version of the Sex and Tech Survey, created by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, and the elaboration of 7 social and demographic questions and 6 questions about media consumption and daily technology use. The results showed that environment exposure was higher in males as well as in the group of individuals of both sexes who sent approximately 76-90 written messages per day. By contrast, positive emotions and the development of greater interest in Sexting were higher in women. Positive emotions were higher in young adults, students of both sexes and unemployed persons.

Abstract
Today, in our landscape perception exists a gap that needs to be fulfilled. It's important to increase the coverage, temporal and spatial resolution in order to cover this gap, as well as reduce costs with human resources that usually take this kind of tasks. Unmanned Autonomous vehicles with their inherent autonomy and reduced needs of human and communication resources, can provide additional capabilities and a new innovative solution to this problem This paper presents and describes the participation of ICARUS Team at euRathlon 2015 and the importance of this type of events performed with multiple unnamed systems.

Fiber Microstructure Sensors Based on Focused Ion Beam Technology

Abstract
Optical fiber sensors have evolved over the years in many different directions. One particular direction dictated by necessity is miniaturization and the creation of micro- and nano-optical fiber sensors. Many techniques now exist that allow the micro-structuring of optical fiber. One in particular is focused ion beam technology. This chapter aims to introduce this technique and present the latest work on the application of focused ion beam to optical fiber micromachining, more specifically, the fabrication of optical fiber microstructure sensors such as micro-gratings and micro-cavities.
