Abstract
While lecturers who gave their testimonials to us admit that workloads in academia are extremely high they still accept to direct study cycles without receiving extra pay or any apparent benefits, besides added status and prestige. Similarly, students surveyed (n=69) also want to do socially responsible activity when they become executives, even though this may go against their evaluation (as profit maximizers) by shareholders. Is society and academia in particular becoming more altruistic? One might say that social responsibility is no longer an option, that informed consumers are looking to buy from socially responsible enterprises. One might also assume that in academia, which is a very hierarchical environment, that individuals initiating careers in academia are not in a position to decline invitations to coordinate study cycles. We do also, however, with our study, see evidence of something beyond the above more authoritarian reasons for wanting to do good in society. Individuals may genuinely want to contribute as more basic needs are increasingly fulfilled and individuals seek a higher and more worthwhile purpose in life. When asked whether social responsibility is a question of marketing, a number of students were divided on this issue. Just under one third answered neutrally, and over half answered neutral or disagreeing. The sample of students is interested in social responsibility - with over three quarters revealing a strong connection with social responsibility activity. Firms should not only seek profit, our students stated in majority, though seeking a profit is not seen by the majority to be a sign of being wicked. Previous studies on human motivation have emphasized how, in more advanced societies, needs follow a hierarchy and at the highest level one will find worthwhile accomplishment. What is novel is that this worthwhile accomplishment is not linked to material success but to wanting to do good in society. Further in-depth research is necessary into such change in society, towards a softer stance than that advocated by Milton Friedman in the 1970s, in his landmark paper defending that profit is the social responsibility of firms and that executives know nothing about solving the poverty problem or unemployment or inflation and so should stay away from seeking to solve these problems (rather, leave that to civil servants). We have found that change is upon us and that millennials want to play an active role in solving society's woes, so more research in this area is necessary to quantify the change and its effects.

Abstract
The increasing trend in wireless Internet access has been boosted by IEEE 802.11. However, the application scenarios are still limited by its short radio range. Stub Wireless Multi-hop Networks (WMNs) are a robust, flexible, and cost-effective solution to the problem. Yet, typically, they are formed by single radio mesh nodes and suffer from hidden node, unfairness, and scalability problems. We propose a simple multi-radio, multi-channel WMN solution, named Wi-Fi network Infrastructure eXtension-Dual-Radio (WiFIX-DR), to overcome these problems. WiFIX-DR reuses IEEE 802.11 built-in mechanisms and beacons to form a Stub WMN as a set of self-configurable interconnected Basic Service Sets (BSSs). Experimental results show the improved scalability enabled by the proposed solution when compared to single-radio WMNs. © 2017 IEEE.

Abstract
Mooshak is a web system with support for assessment in computer science. It was originally developed for programming contest management but evolved to be used also as a pedagogical tool, capitalizing on its programming assessment features. The current version of Mooshak supports other forms of assessment used in computer science, such as diagram assessment. This form of assessment is supported by a set of new features, including a diagram editor, a graph comparator, and an environment for integration of pedagogical activities. The first attempt to integrate these features to support diagram assessment revealed a number of shortcomings, such as the lack of support for multiple diagrammatic languages, ineffective feedback, and usability issues. These shortcomings were addressed by the creation of a diagrammatic language definition language, the introduction of a new component for feedback summarization and a redesign of the diagram editor. This paper describes the design and implementation of these features, as well as their validation.

MEASUREMENT
Abstract
Animal experiments have gained importance in human diseases studies, namely neurological diseases and its biomechanical and physiological aspects. As a model of human disease, the rat offers many advantages over other organisms. For the biomechanical aspects of locomotion these studies are based on the analysis of animals' kinetic parameters, accessed through a locomotion measurement system. However, these systems are not yet thoroughly developed, are still scarce and are also very expensive when developed for studies using small rodents. In this paper, a system capable of measuring contact forces of small rodents is presented. The platform hardware is based on a 5 x 3 matrix of ultra-sensitive force sensors that produce a set of signals acquired in a LabVIEW (TM) environment, used for data acquisition and processing. The post processing steps include the removal of null data, curve normalization related to the rat's weight and expressed as percentage of passage, resulting in a gait pattern. The proposed cost-effective system has achieved excellent results regarding the locomotion profile of healthy animals.
