TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH PART E-LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORTATION REVIEW
Abstract
This paper presents a new formulation for a time window assignment vehicle routing problem where time windows are defined for multiple product segments. This two-stage stochastic optimization problem is solved by means of a fix-and-optimize based matheuristic. The first stage assigns product dependent time windows while the second stage defines delivery schedules. Our approach outperforms a general-purpose solver and achieves an average cost decrease of 5.3% over expected value problem approaches. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis on three operational models shows that it is possible to obtain significant savings compared to the solutions provided by a large European food retailer.

Abstract
This article describes part of the development cycle of an educational robotic platform to be used as an interdisciplinary teaching tool integrated in the curriculum. We focus on the creation of the alpha and beta versions of our prototype and it’s evaluation by representative users. The SUS score of 92.5 points,
Best Imaginable, show a very stable and satisfactory robotic platform, with almost no usability problems detected.

ENERGY AND BUILDINGS
Abstract
A ground-sourced heat pump (GSHP) was installed in a former Vicarage in Cambridgeshire, with a mix of solid wall structure built in the late 1800s and cavity wall section built in the 2000s, previously heated by oil. This type of building is usually considered unsuitable for heat pumps, unless substantial insulation work and extensive replacement of radiators are undertaken. Although the building had undergone a degree of retrofit to increase insulation, the GSHP was installed with the existing radiators. A detailed thermal model for the house was built in ESP-r and validated against experimental measurements taken from sensors in every room. The expected heating demands were computed from the model based on weather data and the GSHP system was designed accordingly. A compromise was made between minimizing the size of the heat pump and the achievable energy savings, which could have important implications for the way incentives for low-emissions heating systems are set up. Using the initial SAP assessment would have led to a substantial oversizing of the heat pump. The data collected so far show that an SPF of 2.9 has been achieved whilst maintaining comfortable (C-18) internal temperatures and emissions of CO2 have been reduced by 70%.

Abstract
Two limitations hamper performance of deep architectures for classification and/or detection in medical imaging: (i) the small amount of available data, and (ii) the class imbalance scenario. While millions of labeled images are available today to build classification tools for natural scenes, the amount of available annotated data for automatic breast cancer screening is limited to a few thousand images, at best. We address these limitations with a method for data augmentation, based on the introduction of random elastic deformations on images of mammograms. We validate this method on three publicly available datasets. Our proposed Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) archi-tecture is trained for mass classification - in a conventional way - , and then used in the more interesting problem of mass detection in full mammograms by transforming the CNN into a Fully Convolutional Network (FCN).

Abstract
We present DIGItal sTeps (DIGIT), a system for assisting in the creation of footstep sounds in a post-production foley context—a practice that recreates all diegetic sounds for a moving image. The novelty behind DIGIT is the use of the acoustic (haptic) response of a gesture on a tangible interface as means for navigating and retrieving similar matches from a large database of annotated footstep sounds. While capturing the tactile expressiveness of the traditional sound foley practice in the exploration of physical objects, DIGIT streamlines the workflow of the audio post production environment for film or games by reducing its costly and time-consuming requirements. © 2018, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Handbook of Research on Intrapreneurship and Organizational Sustainability in SMEs
Abstract
The existing literature on internationalization and purchasing is vast; however, the inward internationalization perspective is an under-researched topic. In this chapter, the authors review the literature on internationalization of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to understand the main reasons behind international purchasing and the role of experience on internationalization. Using a survey and descriptive statistics, the results from 56 respondents show that SMEs source from a small number of countries and hold those relationships for several years. The main reasons underlying international purchases are lower prices and better product quality, regardless of goods availability on the domestic market. This chapter has some limitations concerning its exploratory nature, pertaining to its sample size. Some future research avenues are presented such as a deeper look on how internationalization processes differ when SMEs begin their activity by inward rather than by outward activities.
