Description

Formulação de um Modelo Computacional para a Valorização da Água no Mercado Ibérico de Eletricidade

The project aims to analyze the state of the art of water valuation models in electricity markets and, based on that analysis, formulate a new computational model tailored to EDP’s needs. This model should estimate the value of water stored in reservoirs and support the definition of hydroelectric market bids. It is also intended to represent the current reality of the Iberian power system in greater detail, including renewable variability, storage, and hydrological uncertainty. The work includes the methodological formulation of the model, the development of a simplified prototype, and its validation through a test case. As a result, EDP should obtain a solid technical basis for evolving towards a more complete, flexible model better suited to the current challenges of the electricity sector.
