Digital Twin for Europe

Europe faces the imperative to transition to renewable energy sources and enhance the resilience and cost-effectiveness of its infrastructure. Digital twins (DT) emerge as tools for system operators and market participants to coordinate their operations. The development of a federated ecosystem of DT solutions on a European scale has become crucial, allowing each operator to make independent implementation decisions while ensuring interoperability. The EU-funded TwinEU project aims to develop new technologies and establish the necessary conditions for interoperability. It aims to create a European data exchange core supported by interfaces to the energy data space currently in development. Leveraging advanced modelling and AI tools, the project seeks to deliver a digital replica of the energy infrastructure that can be tested and activated.
