Innovative Materials Ecosystem to Gain Synergies of regional, national and EU Initiatives

Despite European leadership in materials science, fragmented efforts at the national, regional, and EU levels are stifling progress in the gield of advanced/innovative materials (AdMa). In this context, the EU-funded InnoMatSyn project aims to align funding programmes, research communities, and innovation policies. It is pushing towards a coherent, sustainable materials ecosystem. Key deliverables include a knowledge repository interconnecting existing databases, support for joint calls between funding agencies, and policy recommendations to reduce technology leakage. InnoMatSyn will also support skills development through co-creation, citizen engagement, and alignment with programmes such as the Advanced Materials Academy. The goal is to speed up innovation, increase impact, and improve EU sovereignty in strategic technologies.
