Description

An European and Ibero-American approach for the digital collection, analysis and dissemination of folk music

Folk music is a form of social and cultural identification that promotes cultural diversity. The EU-funded EA-DIGIFOLK project proposes the establishment of an open-to-the-public platform containing and presenting information about folk music from European and Ibero-American culture. The project will make the musical and ethnomusicological analysis easier for the community, disseminate knowledge discovery through new technologies, and bring folk music to educative and public environments. This Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) project is studying a platform that will incorporate multimedia resources. EA-DIGIFOLK complies with the digitalisation pillars proposed in the strategic plan of MSCA concerning the inclusion of computer sciences technologies to get a new vision in music analysis.
