Physical Engineering

Work description

The objective of this work is the development of optofluidic solutions fabricated by femtosecond laser direct writing. Integrated optofluidic devices are used for the characterization of cells and other suspended particles and/or for optical trapping. The fabrication process involves the creation of optical components, such as waveguides and lenses, as well as three-dimensional micromachining through erosion in aqueous solutions (FLICE – Femtosecond Laser Induced Chemical Etching).

Academic Qualifications

PhD in Physics, Engineering Physics or similar

Minimum profile required

Postdoctoral experience, or a scientific track record following the PhD, compatible with the category of the scientific research career corresponding to the remuneration level defined below. Minimum knowledge of optics and programming is essential.

Preference factors

Solid knowledge of guided optics, laser direct writing, and instrumentation will be considered an advantage.
