Work description

• Literature review on WiFi localization, with attention to the WiFi 6 standard, including different localization methods (e.g. trilateration, triangulation) • Prepare equipment such as WiFi APs or other SDRs, as well as mobile assets to be located, e.g. smartphones or tablets; • Determine software methodology for collecting data on the state of the channel between WiFi points (i.e. APs and targets); • Experimental setup in an indoor environment for data collection; • Data collection according to the chosen methods (e.g. RSSI, FTM, CSI) and creation of a “groundtruth” dataset (with support for existing systems); • Implementation and comparative analysis of the performance and robustness of the implemented methods; • Iteration on the system to allow data collection and indoor location in real-time via the analyzed methods; • Integration with a centralized system via sending collected data and/or estimated positions; • Preparation of a technical report with results and/or contribution to a scientific article.
