IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SMART GRID
Abstract
Further integration of distributed renewable energy sources in distribution systems requires a paradigm change in grid management by the distribution system operators (DSOs). DSOs are currently moving to an operational planning approach based on activating flexibility from distributed energy resources in day/hour-ahead stages. This paper follows the DSO trends by proposing a methodology for active grid management by which robust optimization is applied to accommodate spatial-temporal uncertainty. The proposed method entails the use of a multi-period AC-OPF, ensuring a reliable solution for the DSO. Wind and PV uncertainty is modeled based on spatial-temporal trajectories, while a convex hull technique to define uncertainty sets for the model is used. A case study based on real generation data allows illustration and discussion of the properties of the model. An important conclusion is that the method allows the DSO to increase system reliability in the real-time operation. However, the computational effort grows with increases in system robustness.

Contributions to Management Science
Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to compare collaborative new product development (CNPD) established by industrial companies with their suppliers and customers, according to their size and the type of innovation generated. To do so, eight in-depth case studies were analyzed, based on semi-structured interviews. The findings show that CNPD with suppliers in more active than with clients. The results also show that firm size is important in CNPD activities namely when product differentiation and large scale production activities are at stake. From another perspective, the results show that the development of processes and management methodologies in upstream activities are not extensively used. The chapter contributes to knowledge about CNPD by comparing how upstream and downstream are affected based on firm size and the type of innovation generated. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Ada User Journal
Abstract
Previous workshops have discussed a proposal to augment Ada with fine-grained parallelism, based on the notion of tasklets, a lightweight parallel entity. Recent works have shown the convergence of this model with the OpenMP tasking model and have proposed their coexistence. In this paper we provide a status of the existent works, and describe how these models could be combined.

Abstract
device to increase energy autonomy of moored oceanographic monitoring stations. Oscillations and currents through the sea or river are used to produce energy when the whole system is submerged to a depth between 3 to 10 meters. In order to have an inexpensive system, a buoy containing a Linear Electromagnetic Generator (LEG), is fabricated in a 3D printer, using PLA (polylactic acid) filament. Inside of the buoy, one cylinder shaped LEG (98mm length and 25mm of diameter) produces a maximum output power of 20 mW with a 4 Hz movement. To increase power output in larger systems, more LEGs can be added.

Abstract
With the recent technological developments new possibilities arise for the use of wearables and medical monitoring devices by patients and their respective integration into the digital health ecosystem. FHIRbox is a distributed system under development by the authors for integrating data from various diagnosis devices, complying with FHIR-the latest HL7 standard for exchanging clinical information. The innovative aspects of FHIRbox constitute a reference to drive a paradigm shift in terms of access to health information; as it is a solution that places the patient as the true owner of his clinical data. In this work the authors present the project requirements and the system architecture. (C) 2018 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
