Abstract
Today's society is characterized by an abundant growth of data and information within the organizations, largely due to the extrapolation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) used to support their daily activities. The growing complexity of IS, has required the appearance of Information Systems Architectures (ISA) for their management and maintenance. The research team has identified relevance in its applicability within the Portuguese Higher Education Institutions (PHE), and a case study with the University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) was drawn. Through the development and implementation of an ISA proposal, UTAD was provided with a transversal view of all the existing IS, allowing validation of the existence/need for IS aimed at managing information and decision-making under a multidimensional perspective, that is, oriented at different organizational levels, from the operational to the strategic level. Given the proposed ISA degree of abstraction, it can be applied to the other institutions within PHE, since they share similar contexts than the one inherent to UTAD.

Abstract
The Internet offers a set of information that is constantly growing in both size and complexity, becoming an indispensable tool to our daily-lifes. A particular group of Web users are those with some sort of disabilities or incapacities. These users need this technology to be adaptable to their incapacities and limitations, thus the need fo the entities behind their development assume the inherent responsabilities. This document serves as a summary of a research project aimed at studying the relation between the users needs and the perspectives on the topic presented by the companies behind Web content development, thus characterizing this reality and achieve future adjustments.

NEW ADVANCES IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES, VOL 2
Abstract
Since the dawn of human civilization that cooperation among individuals is observed. In the most primitive stage this phenomenon was manifested through hunting groups, progressing to the construction of objects and buildings and in a later phase in the construction of modem society itself. Nowadays with the advent of technology and rise of ICT, collaborative processes across workgroups in organizations have been increasingly supported by this concept. The use of technology for supporting collaborative processes of working groups led to the creation of areas of study as CSCW and Groupware. In the health area, collaborative platforms have been used for supporting medical distance learning, social networks for collaboration, patient monitoring, discussion forums and sharing of medical media content. This paper has the goal of analyzing teclmological advances and the application of collaborative platforms in the health area, through an exploratory work of literature and application analysis and discussion.

TRENDS AND APPLICATIONS IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
Abstract
The continuous process industry is currently facing a serious need for systems that allow to monitor and manage their factories. Despite the existing industrial visualization screens provide for a partial answer to the identified issue, there is a set of new technologies who might help on developing the existing industrial visualization systems and provide and improved aid to the human controllers who monitor and manage the production processes. The presented paper aims at not only delivering a serious and focused characterization on the existing industry visualization screens, but above all, it intends to present several opportunities, challenges and new perspectives for the use of innovative visualization technologies (such as 2.5D/3D screens, augmented and virtual reality) in those industries whose production process assumes itself as continuous. This contribute, from our perspective will serve as a basis for further research on the field.
