Abstract
This paper reports the participation of the InfoLab at the TREC Precision Medicine Track 2018. InfoLab is an informal group that brings together researchers with interest in the information area and is located at Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto. The experiments made in this participation include query expansion approaches for the disease and gene concepts. The expansion of the disease terms was done using Unified Medical Language System (UMLS). UMLS is a repository that provides the mapping between a large number of vocabularies. The gene terms were expanded using Ensembl. Ensembl provides a genome browser that maps genes to their synonyms. An additional layer was developed on top of Terrier to provide the execution of a large batch of experiments. Multiple runs were evaluated in order to measure the influence of each expansion approach. © 2018 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Este relatório corresponde ao trabalho realizado pela Universidade Aberta no âmbito do contrato estabelecido com a FCT/FCCN para a elaboração de uma proposta de Matriz Técnico-Pedagógica inicial para a plataforma NAU, destinada a cursos online, massivos e abertos (MOOC). Segue a estrutura apresentada no caderno de encargos da entidade adjudicante.

Abstract
O Repositório Aberto da UAb, como polo de agregação de publicações científicas em acesso aberto, não pode deixar de albergar e divulgar a produção científica em língua portuguesa dos docentes e investigadores da UAb. Sendo que a maioria das publicações, e aquelas que efetivamente têm maior relevância no currículo dos autores, são escritas em língua inglesa, a publicação em português é importante pela divulgação da ciência junto de populações que dominam menos o inglês, mas com grande potencial científico. Além disso, faz juz à matriz fundacional da Universidade Aberta, ao promover o uso da língua e a divulgação da sua atividade no espaço lusófono. Neste texto, analisamos o panorama da publicação científica em português na área da Informática, e apresentamos a Revista de Ciências da Computação, primeira revista científica em acesso aberto da UAb. A revista insere-se numa estratégia e política institucional de recursos abertos (REA), promovendo o acesso e a disseminação junto dos falantes de língua portuguesa espalhados pelo mundo.

Abstract
O nosso estudo propôs a implementação de Gamificação numa Plataforma Social Académica de uma Universidade Virtual, para verificar de que forma esta influenciava a Interação e a Aprendizagem Social. Para isso usámos uma Metodologia de Design Based Research numa configuração de Métodos Mistos. Começámos por recolher opiniões dos utilizadores dessa Plataforma. Esses resultados informaram na construção de um protótipo gamificado. Seguidamente efetuaram-se testes de usabilidade, recolhendo dados da performance e das opiniões dos utilizadores e foi construída uma nova Plataforma. Nesta fase foi efetuada uma Observação sistemática e recolhidas Analytics do uso. Foram discutidos os resultados e de que forma estes podem ser usados para posteriores intervenções.;Our work proposed the Gamification of an Academic Social Platform from a Virtual University, to inspect the impact on the Interaction and Social Learning of members. We employed Design Based Research with Mixed-Methods. First we gathered information about the users of the original platform, them we designed a prototype. After, we made usability tests and implemented a second platform with Gamification Elements. On this second platform we made a Systematic Observation and gathered the Analytics. We discuss the findings and report ways where they can be used for future implementations.

Abstract
The University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), in an effort to streamline processes and reduce bureaucracy, decided to develop and use an in-house document management system to handle processes. However, this practice created additional needs such as the actual digital signing of documents associated with the institution business and administrative processes. This paper explores a solution proposal to this problem, documenting what are its functionalities and how it works. An initial application of the developed solution is also described and analyzed in order to demonstrate the overall adequacy of the proposed artefact and its overall impact to the institution administrative operations. © Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.
