The work of Diana Guimarães and Miguel Ferreira, researchers of INESC TEC’s Centre for Applied Photonics (CAP), was distinguished by the Portuguese Society of Physics at the 21st National Conference on Physics (Física2018), which took place between 29 August and 1 September of 2018 at the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã.

INESC TEC's Centre for Applied Photonics (CAP) organised the third conference days on Engineering Physics and Astronomy in collaboration with the Physics and Astronomy Department (DFA) of the University of Porto (FCUP), which took place on 18 May at FCUP. Orlando Frazão (CAP, INESC TEC) and André Pereira (DFA) were the chairs of the event.

The enhancement and transfer of technology have been one of INESC TEC’s intervention priorities over the last few years. The establishment of the INESC TEC’s Technology Licensing Office (SAL) in 2014 was crucial to the real progress in the protection of the intellectual property created in the institute.
