Abstract
BACKGROUND The application of kaolin particle film is considered a short-term strategy against several environmental stresses in areas with a Mediterranean-like climate. However, it is known that temperature fluctuations and water availability over the season can jeopardize kaolin efficiency in many Mediterranean crops. Hence, this study aims to evaluate the effects of kaolin foliar application on berry phytohormones, antioxidant defence, and oenological parameters at veraison and harvest stages of Touriga-Franca (TF) and Touriga-Nacional (TN) grapevines in two growing seasons (2017 and 2018). The 2017 growing season was considered the driest (-147.1 dryness index) and the warmest (2705 degrees C growing degree days) of the study. RESULTS In 2017, TF kaolin-treated berries showed lower salicylic acid (-26.6% compared with unsprayed vines) and abscisic acid (ABA) (-10.5%) accumulation at veraison, whereas salicylic acid increased up to 28.8% at harvest. In a less hot season, TN and TF kaolin-treated grapevines showed a twofold in ABA content and a threefold increase in the indole-3-acetic acid content at veraison and lower ABA levels (83.8%) compared with unsprayed vines at harvest. Treated berries showed a decreased sugar content, without compromising malic and tartaric acid levels, and reactive oxygen species accumulation throughout berry ripening. CONCLUSION The results suggest kaolin exerts a delaying effect in triggering ripening-related processes under severe summer stress conditions. Treated berries responded with improved antioxidant defence and phytohormone balance, showing significant interactions between kaolin treatment, variety, and developmental stage in both assessed years. Abstract
The hotel sector is a diversified and highly technical sector, where the complexity of the facilities, the specific characteristics, and requirements of the area, as well as the regulations and applicable legislation, constitute an enormous challenge. Thus, a structured maintenance plan must include periodic intervention, the proper functioning of equipment, along with a greater reliability of services and energy efficiency. All these aspects will ensure greater protection and comfort to the customers of the hotel units and will enable the effective management of resources, impacting on the overall costs represented by the maintenance area in a hotel structure. This article aims to demonstrate the key importance of the maintenance area in the hotel sector, concluding that hotel facilities’ management enables processes’ optimisation, providing a significant contribution for the processes’ dynamics and the overall performance of the hotel, the staff and, therefore, the hospitality business. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Abstract
Assistive environments is a well established research area, particularly, the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) paradigm, which relies in data and artificial intelligence to infer the user's actions and status, thus enabling assistive actions. In a very distinct environment - the manufacturing industry, we propose a twin concept - the Ambient Assisted Working (AAW), to provide assistance to the workers on the factory floor, using solutions with design principles similar to AAL systems. The Industry 4.0 (I4.0) Technical Assistance design principle, introduces the assistance concept in I4.0 solutions and the AAW builds on top of that design principle.

Abstract
Social engineering attacks such as phishing are performed against companies and institutions and thus, cybersecurity awareness and training of technical and non-technical human resources play a fundamental role in preventing and mitigating a set of cyberattacks. This paper presents a comparative study based on simulated phishing attacks on two organizations with contrasting security practices and procedures. The first organization is a secondary school, with no IT staff, no defined information security policy, no guidance from top management on cybersecurity issues, and no training actions. The other is a company with a permanent IT staff, a defined security policy, and where its employees receive regular cybersecurity awareness training exercises. Two simulated phishing attack scenarios were deployed to compare these organisations regarding the behaviour of their employees and the readiness of their IT staff and to verify if the employees’ academic degree is a decisive criterion to protect them against this type of attack. The main results show that the rapid reporting and action of the IT staff in the organization where it existed, was an effective measure to mitigate the impact of the simulated phishing attack. In addition, the results show that about 18% of school employees leaked their data, compared to about 10% of the company. Furthermore, this study allows us to deduce that the academic level of employees does not seem to be a decisive criterion to protect them against phishing attacks. © 2022, Innovative Information Science and Technology Research Group. Abstract
The ELASTIC European project addresses the emergence of extreme-scale analytics, providing a software architecture with a new elasticity concept, intended to support smart cyber-physical systems with performance requirements from extreme-scale analytics workloads. One of the main challenges being tackled by ELASTIC is the necessity to simultaneously fulfil the non-functional properties inherited from smart systems, such as real-time, energy efficiency, communication quality or security. This paper presents how the ELASTIC architecture monitors and manages such non-functional requirements, working in close collaboration with the component responsible for the orchestration of elasticity. © 2022, Ada-Europe.
