Data Collection Pipeline for Low-Resource Languages: A Case Study on Constructing a Tetun Text Corpus

Abstract
This paper proposes Labadain Crawler, a data collection pipeline tailored to automate and optimize the process of constructing textual corpora from the web, with a specific target to low-resource languages. The system is built on top of Nutch, an open-source web crawler and data extraction framework, and incorporates language processing components such as a tokenizer and a language identification model. The pipeline efficacy is demonstrated through successful testing with Tetun, one of Timor-Leste's official languages, resulting in the construction of a high-quality Tetun text corpus comprising 321.7k sentences extracted from over 22k web pages. The contributions of this paper include the development of a Tetun tokenizer, a Tetun language identification model, and a Tetun text corpus, marking an important milestone in Tetun text information retrieval.

Residential District Heating Network with Peer-To-Peer Market Structure: The Case of Nordhavn District

Abstract
Over the last decades, district heating has been under development, especially the technologies like heat pumps, solar thermal and cogeneration. However, there is still a long way to go regarding regulation, legislation and market liberalization, which varies across countries and regions. The objective of this work is to investigate the potential benefits of decentralized district heating systems in residential areas. By studying a case study of EnergyLab Nordhavn, a residential area in Copenhagen, Denmark, the paper compares the market outcomes of decentralized systems such as community markets to the centralized pool market currently in practice, under the EMB3Rs platform. The study focuses on key market outputs such as dispatched production, revenues, and daily consumption patterns. Additionally, the paper examines the impact of advanced features such as flexible heat consumption and network awareness in the market. The results of this research suggest that decentralized district heating systems have the potential to improve market outcomes and increase energy efficiency in residential areas.

Co-designing urban mobility solutions in a socio-technical transition context: Guidelines for participative service design

Abstract
The evolution of urban morphology and urban mobility reveals a complex and multidimensional relation that has been historically linked to the evolution of technology and its influence on people's behaviour, desires, and needs. The increasing level of digitalization of human interactions in both social and work environments has created a new paradigm for urban mobility. Alongside, sustainability concerns are also accelerating the design of new policies for improving citizens' quality of life in urban areas. To address this new paradigm, municipalities need to consider new methodologies encompassing the different dimensions of the urban environment. This can be achieved if key stakeholders participate in co-creating and co-designing new solutions for urban mobility. In this paper we propose a multidisciplinary approach to these problems, supported by service-dominant logic concepts. The approach was used to design the CoDUMIS framework that brings together four dimensions of urban areas (social, urban, technological, and organizational). The application of the framework to four distinct cases, in Portuguese municipalities, resulted in a set of guidelines that help municipalities to improve their services and policies in a participatory environment, involving all the stakeholders.

Analysis of the impact of Fast Electric Vehicle Charging Stations on Power Quality in Distribution Networks

Abstract
One of the biggest obstacles when it comes to the electrification of the vehicle fleet is the charging time of an electric vehicle (EV), which means that users of these vehicles, when they need to charge their car, always look for fast charging stations. This is the charging method that has the shortest duration. In the coming years, an increase in the proliferation of electric vehicles will lead to a greater demand for electricity, which in turn will put the distribution network to the test. Since the number of non-linear loads increases day by day, putting the distribution network under increasing stress, it is wise to study the effects of the high penetration of electric vehicles (EV) on the power quality of the network. This paper aims to study the impact of charging EV on the quality of energy in the distribution network. First, an analysis of the harmonics and electronics (non-linear loads) associated with EV chargers will be done. Then, a simulation will be performed on the IEEE 33 network using the Matlab/Simulink simulation software. Finally, a comparison will be made of the results obtained in the simulation and possible ways of mitigating the harmonics that non-linear loads inject into the electricity distribution network. Challenges to the manufacturing of the Warm Support Structure for the METIS instrument at the ESO/ELT telescope

Abstract
METIS is a first light mid-infrared instrument for the new ESO/ELT telescope. It includes a cryostat with a mass of more than ten tons that must face the telescope optical beam placed 6 m above the telescope Nasmyth instrument mounting platform. To overcome this height and allow the overall alignment of the field and pupil of the entrance beam, a large size structure has been designed, analyzed and optimized and is now being manufactured. To minimize the overall mass, the beam attachments do not fit in a vertical/horizontal grid but are oblique in a 3D structure. In building this structure one needs to combine 3D CNC machined parts of reasonable dimensions with several welded structural tube structures. Due to the sizes involved, these subsystems must be manufactured accurately within an angle tolerance of 0.1 degrees, imposing challenges on the welding process. The overall approaches to the main problems, together with the structures needed for the assembly, integration and transport. are discussed.
