Method for comparison of the number of citations from papers in different databases

Abstract
Citation analysis has been used to compare researchers, fields, institutions and countries. However, not much has been done to compare citations of papers belonging to different databases and published in different years. This comparison could play a relevant role in many systematic literature reviews concerned with the growth, development, and changes of a particular scientific subject. This study aims to examine whether we can use the percentile approach to compare the number of citations from papers in different databases. We argue that this method can convert citations from different databases when there are same articles belonging to more than one database. We apply the method on Thomson Reuters' Web of Science and Elsevier's Scopus databases because they are the leading databases of scholarly impact. In this study we use two different Scopus subject area: Engineering - Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering; and Arts and Humanities -Archaeology. The analysis comprises articles published for the time period 1987-2017, of journals in the Scopus top 10%, corresponding to approximately 152,000 papers.

Adaptation and Validation of the Temple Presence Inventory in a Portuguese Population

Abstract
The present study aims to translate and validate the Temple Presence Inventory (TPI) for the Portuguese context, respecting the maintenance of an equivalent semantics as well as the validity of its contents and concepts. This study also aims to verify the psychometric properties of the instrument (factor validity and internal consistency). The sample consisted of 455 individuals (male = 271, female = 184). The fidelity of the factors varied between 0.5 and 0.84. The confirmatory factor analysis produced a theoretical model with 38 items distributed among eight factors. The covariance between some residual errors of instrument items was considered, and the following fit indices were observed: chi 2/df = 2.073; GFI = 0.858; CFI = 0.887; RSMEA = 0.049; AIC = 1527. The results confirm the appropriateness of the version adapted to the Portuguese language of the TPI and that it can be used in research projects aiming to evaluate Presence in the Portuguese-speaking population (Europe).

Usability Evaluation of a Public Transport Mobile Ticketing Solution

Abstract
Many public transport mobile ticket solutions have arisen but new technologies can face difficulties when launched for a number of reasons that are directly addressed by usability evaluation - a central process in developing usable, hence useful high quality systems with which humans can interact. This paper presents a usability testing performed in context of use of a recently developed public transport mobile ticketing solution for the Metropolitan Area of Porto, Portugal. The objective was to determine if the application is easy to use and navigate for the average user and to generate valuable suggestions for making the app more user-friendly and tasks such as using public transport services and understanding fares quicker and less complicated. Along with problems detected, a list of recommendations by order of importance for improving usability aspects of the mobile application was provided. This study aims to inform developers about usability practices for making mobile ticketing solutions easier to use and stimulate its wider adoption.

Methodological considerations for kinematic analysis of upper limbs in healthy and poststroke adults Part II: a systematic review of motion capture systems and kinematic metrics

Abstract
Background and purpose: To review the methods used to analyze the kinematics of upper limbs (ULs) of healthy and poststroke adults, namely the motion capture systems and kinematic metrics. Summary of review: A database of articles published in the last decade was compiled using the following search terms combinations: ("upper extremity" OR "upper limb" OR arm) AND (kinematic OR motion OR movement) AND (analysis OR assessment OR measurement). The articles included in this review: (1) had the purpose to analyze objectively three-dimension kinematics of ULs, (2) studied functional movements or activities of daily living involving ULs, and (3) studied healthy and/or poststroke adults. Fourteen articles were included (four studied a healthy sample, three analyzed poststroke patients, and seven examined both poststroke and healthy participants). Conclusion: Most articles used optoelectronic systems with markers; however, the presentation of laboratory and task-specific errors is missing. Markerless systems, used in some studies, seem to be promising alternatives for implementation of kinematic analysis in hospitals and clinics, but the literature proving their validity is scarce. Most articles analyzed "joint kinematics" and "end-point kinematics," mainly related with reaching. The different stroke locations of the samples were not considered in their analysis and only three articles described their psychometric properties.

Dynamic electricity tariff definition based on market price, consumption and renewable generation patterns

Abstract
The increasing use of renewable energy sources and distributed generation brought deep changes in power systems, namely with the operation of competitive electricity markets. With the eminent implementation of micro grids and smart grids, new business models able to cope with the new opportunities are being developed. Virtual Power Players are a new type of player, which allows aggregating a diversity of entities, e.g. generation, storage, electric vehicles, and consumers, to facilitate their participation in the electricity markets and to provide a set of new services promoting generation and consumption efficiency, while improving players' benefits. In order to achieve this objective, it is necessary to define tariff structures that benefit or penalize agents according to their behavior. In this paper a method for determining the tariff structures has been proposed, optimized for different load regimes. Daily dynamic tariff structures were defined and proposed, on an hourly basis, 24 hours day-Ahead from the characterization of the typical load profile, the value of the electricity market price and considering the renewable energy production. © 2018 IEEE.

Detection and classification of multidirectional steps for motor-cognitive training in older adults using shoe-mounted inertial sensors

Abstract
Interactive games have the potential to mitigate or prevent gait impairments and cognitive decline in older adults. This study aimed at developing a novel real-time step detection and direction classification approach to be used in the evaluation of multidirectional steps and interaction while playing motor-cognitive games. Two shoe-mounted inertial sensors were used to capture foot motions, which were treated interchangeably after the application of a novel foot sagittal reflection method. A single multi-class classifier was able to distinguish step direction with an accuracy of 98.1%. Experimental results support the applicability of the solution in the context of interactive motor-cognitive training.
