TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION IN LEARNING, TEACHING AND EDUCATION, TECH-EDU 2022
Abstract
Many organizations' performance and survival challenges need dynamic capabilities and technology to speed the development of those capabilities. Companies are constantly visiting the strategies used in learning as a crucial element in preparing their workforce for the accelerated changes. Learning Technologies stand as a facilitator of these challenges, which is why they are so important. There is still a good margin of exploration in the field of the learning technologies. The reality is that a reduced number of studies explore the technology as important in accelerating innovation, performance, and competitiveness. The present research will focus on the strategic implementation of learning technologies. The approach we chose to solve this problem is to develop guidelines that support the strategy for implementing technology in the learning field. The approach will allow us to relate the strategy with the challenges and the impact the organization is expected to achieve.

TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION IN LEARNING, TEACHING AND EDUCATION, TECH-EDU 2022
Abstract
This position paper provides an overview of the most important practices in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) used in educational contexts, with a focus on the main platforms used for teaching (LMS) to support the development of a research work at EduardoMondlane University (UEM) in Mozambique. To that end, definitions and descriptions of relevant terms, a brief historical overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and an overview of the common goals and practices of using computational methods in educational contexts are provided. The state of the art regarding the adaptation and use of Artificial Intelligence is presented and we discuss the potential benefits and the open challenges. The paper also presents the methodology and key steps which will be developed at UEM to achieve the research goals.

Abstract
This study has grown out of research and development work, begun in 1996, in the field of communication technologies and multimedia services in the context of professional training. It has been designed to identify and report on the factors that determine the way in which communication technologies influence the performance of learners in learning contexts and distributed learning communities and in eLearning and bLearning environments. It is based on the specification and validation experience that has been gained from solutions used in the “Formare” learning management system.
A conceptual model for the new version of LMS Formare has been developed on the basis of a number of factors. These include a theoretical framework, research outcomes and the results of innovation projects allied with 14 years professional experience of delivering distance teaching, eLearning and bLearning in a business context, this delivery being based on the principles of communication and the management of learning in real learning environments.
In addition to investigating the underlying principles and main components of learning organizations, distance teaching, communication, multimedia education, eLearning and bLearning, this thesis focuses on the analysis of two case studies supported by Formare. The first of these involves self-learning on Campus PT and the second collaborative learning in the context of training eTrainers.
For each of the case studies, the technological and pedagogical options employed were analyzed and validated. Data was collected on trainee’s perceptions, degree of use and pedagogical assessments. The main conclusions and indicators involved in implementing eLearning in organizations using LMS Formare were also identified.
The thesis draws these various threads together by presenting the main results, limitations and conclusions of the research. It also outlines a number of concerns bearing on future activity in this area, thus attempting to contribute to the development of eLearning in Learning Organizations.

Abstract
This paper presents a framework for the design and implementation of learning objects using a competence-based approach. This framework is illustrated by the development of a standalone Windows application (Trilho GOA) whose primary purpose is to create standardized pedagogical contents trough the aggregation and standardization of instructional resources in several formats that can be used later on a Learning Management System (LMS) supporting SCORM 1.2. The paper contains a brief introduction to the developed software, its system architecture, main features and several pedagogical advantages for its users.

DST 2012: International Conference on Digital Storytelling
Abstract
The art of telling stories in digital format is currently widely available due to the
popularization of digital cameras, computers and other mobile devices. In this paper we
discuss the use of collaborative learning strategies based on Digital Storytelling in
corporative training. The text includes a concise review on theoretical and technical
foundations about educational communication through the use of audiovisual products
based on disciplines such as Communication, Education and Cognitive Sciences. We will
also discuss how Digital Storytelling may be integrated in traditional contents oriented
self-training systems, used by many corporations. However the main focus will be the
discussion of the potential of the use of Digital Storytelling methodology in corporative
training context which will be detailed based on data collected in scenarios from
Portugal and Brazil. The paper is based on qualitative research and it will argue that
digital storytelling may contribute to the improvement of the effectiveness of
collaborative learning processes in corporative training, because it provides means for
the swift delivery of highly contextualized learning materials and the sharing of relevant
personal trainers and trainees’ experiences. Furthermore, Digital Storytelling
methodology provides an opportunity to value, respect and promote the multiple and
different cultural and social interactions in the corporative knowledge construction
process. The research methodology adopted on this study involved three phases: 1)
literature review; 2) detailed analysis of the digital Storytelling methodology and its
implications in corporative training context; 3) collecting data from and discussing
about some corporative cases in Portugal and Brazil. The result of the research aims at
suggesting a critical analysis and creative attitude in the production of audiovisual
teaching materials for the corporative training context.
