Abstract
The production of scientific publications is a cooperative activity that usually involves several authors. Current solutions of cooperative editors do not contemplate features such as references management and publications deposit. In this context, the authors have previously developed the PaperFlow platform that integrates the three main functionalities required to produce scientific publications: a cooperative text editor, a cooperative reference manager and a connector to scientific digital repositories. However, this approach did not included tools for a previous important stage: the conception of the scientific publications. This paper proposes an evolution of the original platform to accommodate the conception stage. For this purpose, the specification of PaperFlow/R includes new functionalities such as whiteboards, communication tools and versioning control that improve the cooperation abilities of the platform. © 2010 IEEE.

BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION THROUGH INNOVATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT: AN ACADEMIC PERSPECTIVE, VOLS 3 AND 4
Abstract
Nowadays there are many types of tools for the optimization of organizational information systems. In the context of these tools, we have systems like e-mail, workflow, wikis, among many others. Despite the fact that, for the planning and designing of conventional information systems, there are many techniques that enable the representation of the elements of those systems and the relationships between them, as for what collaborative systems are concerned, we cannot find specification techniques that allow the representation of the existing degrees/levels of interaction. That is a problem because it hinders the proper planning regarding the choice of this kind of systems. In this paper is proposed a matrix-representation technique, which allows the specification of degrees/levels of interaction between organizational entities and the classification of processes according to the time space taxonomy. In a information systems planning project, these technique will be useful for choosing the correct classes of cooperative tools that should be included in final system solutions.

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL ON DOCUMENT ANALYSIS AND RECOGNITION
Abstract
Many musical works produced in the past are still currently available only as original manuscripts or as photocopies. The preservation of these works requires their digitalization and transformation into a machine-readable format. However, and despite the many research activities on optical music recognition (OMR), the results for handwritten musical scores are far from ideal. Each of the proposed methods lays the emphasis on different properties and therefore makes it difficult to evaluate the efficiency of a proposed method. We present in this article a comparative study of several recognition algorithms of music symbols. After a review of the most common procedures used in this context, their respective performances are compared using both real and synthetic scores. The database of scores was augmented with replicas of the existing patterns, transformed according to an elastic deformation technique. Such transformations aim to introduce invariances in the prediction with respect to the known variability in the symbols, particularly relevant on handwritten works. The following study and the adopted databases can constitute a reference scheme for any researcher who wants to confront a new OMR algorithm face to well-known ones.

Abstract
Stating that information and services are ubiquitous, means that they are available anywhere, anytime. The development of mobile-devices with wireless network-access capabilities, together with the decrease in network-traffic costs and the proliferation of free wireless hotspots, makes the use of mobile-devices, as Internet access tools, increasingly common and attractive. With novel forms of presenting information and to provide new ways to interact with consumers, new business strategies can be boosted, in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and m-commerce. This paper describes a different approach to the relationship between customers and business-providers, based on contextualization mechanisms located in commercial products, which in turn acts as a gateway to static tag-embedded information as well as web-based information and services. A wine integrated management system, called SIGPV, is presented as a proof-of-concept, enumerating some of possible major business and CRM benefits. © 2010 Universidad de Talca - Chile.

Abstract
An augmented reality system allows you to combine real and virtual objects in a real environment, interactively and in real-time, features that give these systems a high potential in learning environments. This paper discusses the fundamentals of information technology in education. In particular, it explores the mobile augmented reality as a tool to support learning. It also proposes a model for supporting learning environments attended by interactive multimedia environments using augmented reality on mobile devices. © IEEE.
