About

Miguel Lunet is a Research Assistant at INESC TEC, where his work focuses on sequential decision-making applied to real-world operational challenges, including routing, pricing, and inventory management. His research is unified by a common theme: decisions are made dynamically over time and are inherently affected

by uncertainty in incoming events. His work lies at the intersection of operations research and reinforcement learning.

Miguel is currently a first-year PhD candidate in Industrial Engineering and Management at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP). He completed both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management at FEUP in 2023 and 2025, respectively. During his studies, he spent one semester at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands as part of the Erasmus+ program. Throughout his academic journey, Miguel completed two internships: one at Jerónimo Martins and another at Horse Aveiro (formerly Renault Cacia). He also served as an invited lecturer for two editions of the first-year course “Projeto FEUP” and one edition of the second-year “Statistics” course in the Bachelor's program in Industrial Engineering and Management. Miguel holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and is a certified Professional Scrum Master.
